[GAMEPLAY] More Gold than you can spend. Adventure is your friend. :)

With Adventure Level 3 you can visit some kind of troll huts (or something like that). Those spawn all over the world, and in each one you get a ring of might. These you can sell at a town for 400 gold each. :-)

even more fun..you can stack those rings ad-infinum.. giving your hero some insane attributes.

If you can add an infinite number of rings, it would make more sense to only add as many as you would have fingers to hold them.

What are your thought about a "paper doll" (similar to HoMM 3) mock up instead of the "double click, its added" setup now?

I think it would make more sense and be more strategic to not be able to add an unlimited amount of rings.

I actually like wearing a dozen rings, I never understood the traditional limit of 2 rings.  Sure you have 2 hands, but you have 10 fingers, and you can wear more then 1 ring per finger if you really want to.   If I could find rings that let me fly, breathe in water, or shot lighting bolts out of my <beep> i'm going to find a way to wear as many as possible even if its not a perfect fit =)

Perhaps a limit based on essence of some sort going along with your control of magic

Perhaps instead of a hard limit, the more magic items you wear, the more chance of there being some kind of "reaction" that will do more harm with the more trinkets you're wearing?

Making a load on essence would be interesting as well. Could backstory it as they only become activate via the essence of the wearer (of course, it would mean no-essence characters couldn't use them logically) so to do their thing, they draw "power" from the wearer - like a living battery.

Ring limits are kinda strange anyway.  You can string them on a necklace or stash them in pockets.  But you can say that only rings worn on fingers imbue magical properties.  And you can say that some aspect of the wearers nature is required to tap into the properties of rings.  Then say that the wearer only has so much of this aspect to go around.  So only N number of rings can be used at one time. You can say many things in order to establish limitations on magical properties.

Yes, there *definitely* need to be some limit on rings - otherwise a hero is a superhero in no time.  I would go for a limit of one on each hand.

Best regards,
Steven.

I do think a limit of some type is in order..

I like the idea that one ring per finger and thumb so 10 tops.. I also like the idea of one ring of type for example one ring of endurance...  then make rings bonus value go up based on goodie hut level. (i.e. level 1-3 rings of +1 or +2 and so on). Lastly more variety of rings

just a quick few examples

ring of defense vs attack type (10% reduction of damage due to fire, ice, melee, ranged and so on)

ring of plus to attack type (10% increase of damage due to fire, ice, melee, ranged and so on)

ring of exp bonus +10% earned exp

ring of diplomacy +10% negotiations

ring of stealth (allows stack movement through enemy zones of control (exposure on  attack or cast))

ring of path finding reduction of terrain effects on movement.

don't forget you have toes too make a 20 ring limit that would be awesome.

And a couple ear lobes, two nostrils, a belly button, and..... ;~p

I'm for limits.  Perhaps a max of 2 or 3 accessories - could be combo of necklace, rings, whatever.  Thats in addition to magical armor and weaponry.  Mods should be free to set their own caps.  But I think the core game should have some limit.

This reminds of a question I've had: Can the gear from defeated units be awarded to the victor?
