So, after a couple more games of 1.1 Beta I've noted a couple things that the city build screen really could use to be more informative, and more intuitive.
1: Buildings Already Constructed - At present, there is no way to really tell what has been built aside from being able to identify them from top down. A UI that looks pretty much identical to the "build this building next" screen on the other side with the list of "Houses x3", which would then highlight where those 3 houses were in the city if the UI was moused over.
2: Resources Provided by the City - We get a list of what the city provides us in the book, and we have a tool at the top that shows us what our entire empire is producing. I would like, when building new buildings, to see what resources the city is contributing to my empire, and which it is using. Again. this is information you can open the book to get, but it is more useful to me when I am choosing what to build in the city. Perhaps a little display that folds out of the existing empire resources when you open a city build window.
3: Ongoing "Build" options - While I would prefer some sort of negative production modifier for building both buildings and units at the same time (divided attention and all), it is bothersome not to be able to have some sort of ongoing "city production" choice. Perhaps a "forage materials" to provide a 10% bonus to city production, or "trade goods" for a bonus to gold, or some such. If the game is going to bother me to give my cities something to do when they are idle, I need to be given options of things for it to do. It makes no sense for a city to just sit there with its industrial sector idle because I don't want to waste gold income on yet another Workshop.
