Thanks Heavenfall, that's somewhat reassuring. As he seemed to just disappear without warning, I was worried that maybe he got hit by a car or something. Glad to hear that's not the case. So I wish seanw3 well in whatever he's got to do, and hope that LH serves as an attractive enough lure to get him back into modding at some point.

Anyone know what happened to seanw3? He was such a big forum contributor and great benefit to the modding community. I can't help but wonder if he's been the victim of some misfortune.
If anyone is in a position to write a book about FE modding, it would be Heavenfall. Stardock should just hire him to work on the next expansion pack after LE. Heck, Stormworld is almost big enough to count as an expansion pack all on its own.
I like playing with dense monsters, above average wildlands, and above average random events. Dense monsters means more of a challenge in the early to mid game, with more opportunities for leveling up champions & sov. The wildlands are fun as I enjoy the feeling of being threatened by hostile lands when I settle on the border. And random events are just awesome, as they can dramatically change up the game and keep things from getting stale. So the more of those the
The game does support 64 bit systems. It just doesn't take advantage of the extra memory available. I am running Windows 8 64 bit, 8 gigs RAM, with a Radeon 7850 graphics card, and it runs like a dream. I can play for hours without a crash. Problems like what you're experiencing are typically related to the graphics card. I suggest sending an e-mail to Stardock; they are generally pretty responsive and helpful trying to troubleshoot issues.
I would also love to see some DLC that adds new monsters. I would be willing to pay a lot for a monster pack. FE comes with a lot of very imaginative and interesting creatures, but you can never have too many IMHO. More is better!
I too am pleased to see Lord Xia finally get his pony. I almost couldn't believe it when I saw that in the changelog one day, thought Derek was teasing us at first. To me this is just icing on the cake, proof that Stardock appreciates the community they have here and really enjoys interacting with us. I haven't gotten the pony quest yet, but am eagerly anticipating seeing it appear. Now if only I could give my sovereign that stylish Xia eyepatch... Hey heavenfall, th
Yes, keep the updates coming please! I also think smaller incremental updates are preferable to big ones that get released less often. More iteration means faster responsiveness to issues and less stale feedback.
Heavenfall, in the meantime while you're waiting why don't you temporarily host the file on another site and post the link here? Heck, I would even be willing to put the file up on my personal web domain and share the link, assuming you could get the file to me somehow... [e digicons][/e]
I would not buy map DLC. Random maps are better for a game like this. I would gladly pay $5 or more for a Creatures DLC: new monsters, new wildlands, and new wildland bosses. Would also like to see some random events that spawn unique super high-level god-like nightmare monsters for end game challenges.
So I'm torn. Now that FE is officially released, I'm really excited to try some mods. And naturally, the first two that spring to mind are Stormworld and Master's Affliction. Both seem to take the game in different directions, and both those directions look great to me. I'm leaning towards Stormworld because the reliquary items look very interesting. But the rebalancing and path specializations offered by Master's Affliction look enticing as w
I think the short answer is: the game is very moddable. There are some great modders around who are working on some exciting things. Considering the nature of your complaints, you might be interested in Seanw3's mod (I think he calls it Masters Affliction, just look for the thread of the same title in the modding section).
Congrats on the win! One thing I love about FE is how every game plays totally different. Who knows what you'll run into next time...
I too would love to have a Kindle version of the manual. But now that I think of it, can't you e-mail PDFs to your Kindle? Haven't tried it myself, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to do it...
Sorry you feel that way Nehanski. This is obviously not the game for you. I was in the beta for months and personally feel this is one of the best 4x games ever made. Kudos to Derek and his team. It has so much depth and strategic possibility! But to each his own, I suppose. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
Hah, FE is an awesome game but diplomacy is not one of its strong points. I would gladly pay money for an add-on pack after release that deepens the diplomacy aspect of the game and improves the AI in regards to its use
harpo, dragoaskani was being sarcastic. Admittedly, sarcasm sometimes doesn't communicate well on forums, but in this case I thought dragoaskani's post was both funny and appropriate. No need to start a flame war. And by the way Frogboy, will FE still give us cancer? I'm just dying to play the final version! :-)
Cool, good to know this will be part of the Stormworld pack. One more question: will the AI be able to use the new summoning spells? One concern I have with mods is the extent to which the AI is capable of adapting to and using new content. If the player can use the added spells but the AI can't, that will put the AI at somewhat of a disadvantage.
I'm very excited about trying this mod after FE is released. The teaser monster pics look great! Are you guys still working on it? Haven't seen any updates for a while. I'm wondering how soon after FE's launch you plan to make it available, and will it be fully compatible with Stormworld?
To handle branching you could make a screen with a sort of tree view. I imagine boxes for the different quest steps, with lines to connect them, going from left to right. Clicking on a box would open your editor screen where you can mess with all the attributes and tags for that step. Just a thought... I really hope this project bears fruit. It would be a great boon to the modding community! Good luck!
Is that evil chuckling I hear coming from your office, Brad? Looking forward to seeing what devious new tricks the AI has in the next build!
@el_phantasma: I think your concerns about pioneer spam and other balance issues are quite legitimate. Frogboy's comments lead me to believe the devs are aware of such concerns and will be actively working on them in beta 5. I think that's the whole point of beta 5. It's a polish / balance / bug-fixing phase. I also agree that we should not have to mod the game ourselves to fix balance issues. The release version of the game should be balanced enough to satisfy a majority of players. I thi
Thanks for sharing this with us Frogboy, I always love reading these kinds of posts that give some insight into how the game works under the hood. Very interesting, and a noticeable improvement too!
Nice little bit of polish, this! I remember seeing a thread where people were complaining about the fonts, but I didn't seriously expect any effort in improving them. It's good that beta 5 will be a bit easier on the eyes. Any idea when we'll be seeing beta 5?
