Can we take the bickering to another thread, please? 1. We know that release MP isn't up to expectations. We already had a gigantic thread about it, just a few days ago. In this one we've got the ear of the boss on what we want to see in MP. Let's stick to that here, and put the complaints in the complaint thread. We might actually get some of this stuff that way. 2. Single player folks antagonizing people just need to STFU in a thread about MP. Seriously. Since we just got as

I really think when it comes to MP you need to split up who you're talking about into groups and look at each one individually, because even from this thread people want drastically different things (and this thread is small). I see three general groups: 1. People who want to play Co-op. These folks are the easiest to please. They want to play with their friends, against the AI. Give them the single player game only with a friend or two they can ally with, and t

IIRC you can see some of the Elemental forums through the Impulse forums. What kind of error are you getting? Is it just not letting you log in?

I'm sure they can dig up the bits of code in the early revision, but that's useless if it's not present in the current compiled code since nobody will be able to do anything anything with it What RavenX was asking is if the code exists to be turned on so the modders could play with it. All these other markets don't threaten Microsoft in the PC area. The threat is that the PC area is going to shrink relative to everything else. I mean, IBM is still a big player in mainframes, but aside from existing customers who is buying those anymore? That's the problem Microsoft faces. But PCs aren't going away for a while. When you have to do work, an iPad just doesn't get it done. Ever tried typing a 20 page report on one of those?
Someone probably screwed up and put it up early, then when they tried to do the checkout the computer told them it wasn't for sale yet.

Unfortunately he's not kidding. Future Shop doesn't have it either, and the last person who visited a Walmart said they knew nothing about it. Amazon.ca only has this . Amusingly, they do list Destiny's Embers in the books section. So, I can't think of anybody in Canada that would have it at retail. I get why that's true in Quebec (no french tra
[quote who="SumoX" reply="37" id="2717077"] I agree that some of things used against Steam (including the ones you listed) are pretty hokey, though I personally hate auto-patching. Before you give me the schpeel about how you can disable that, if you have an older version of the game and want to reinstall after a newer version has hit, you MUST update to the newest version. In games that sometimes lose performance with patches (I'm looking at you, GTAIV), this can sometimes between the d

MOM once again was just better overall in every respect vs AOW. The only thing really AOW has over MOM is graphics and that's not even that great. Plus more ai o

I orginally pre-ordered before the Beta started and did not receive an activation email until Beta 1 started - the same time my card was charged. Since you pre-ordered after the last beta phase was avaible you will probably by charged on the 23rd (when pre-order customers can start downloading the 0 day version of the game). I wouldn't worry to much
You should have gotten an email confirming the pre-order. If you didn't get that, send an email to [email protected] and explain the situation to them. They can sort out what's going on. The game itself won't appear in Impulse until it's released, or available for pre-load if it's going to be available that way (not sure if it will be).
Okay that diplomacy other race stuff is neat.
1. Wait for the demo, as Kryo mentioned. That'll answer the question accurately. 2. That was somewhat of a problem in beta 4, but if units start off farther away it can be mitigated a bit. Ultimately it's a problem with TBS style combat.

I thought it was a continuous turn system that got replaced with traditional turn based. It was continuous turns. Realtime was never planned AFAIK, but to be completely honest, I have no idea what the difference is between continuous turns and realtime. They sound the same to me. I was always on the side of continuous turns/realtime, but when the anno
What he said. :) You can also email [email protected] directly. If it's giving you an error like that, you'll need to contact them to sort it out.
The AI in beta 4 was smarter then previously, but still not very smart. To be fair, beta 4 was the first time the full game was assembled at once for public consumption, so it's not surprising the AI didn't know how to do some things yet. They've had a fair bit of time since them to hammer away at it with all the systems in place and largely locked down (except for bug fixes). So there's no question the release AI will be better then the beta 4 AI. How much so is a mystery, but the Ga

Originally I wasn't sure about the idea, then it grew on me, then it grew off me again... right now I'm thinking once we get up to larger armies with the special abilities in, tactical combat should be pretty fun despite the switch.

Everybody got their points heard and responded to. Nobody's going to walk away saying "we were ignored". I've been popping up in other threads talking about other things, and I'd encourage everybody else to do the same. The single player side of the game is looking pretty good,
