Well it is quite obvious that he is .. hm .. concerned (?) ... about how Multiplayer would influce his precious game. But as you said before, there really is no need to worry if it is just a casual "hot-seat" / "co-op vs AI" multiplayer. There would be no need to even touch single player for that.
Yeah, exactly. It's been done that way before, no reason it can't be done again. As for that other g

Last I checked it did alright. :P Also good to see people hurling insults against people for wanting to do something crazy like play coop.
How would multiplayer even work? This is a long, slow, and turn based game. I have never played Civ 5, so could someone detail how multiplayer could even be viable?
Civ 5 is a bad example, since they removed some stuff when you're playing in MP (like half the diplomacy). Civ 4 OTOH... it's basically exactly the same as playing single player, except you can have more humans. It

Lame. :( Hopefully they don't screw it up, but their track record is less than awesome and they have no experience in the genre.
Diablo 3's story is fine. If you're looking for a story read a book or watch a movie. If it took me 40 hours to read a book just to finish one story I would never read again. Video games have pedantic stories where the "gameplay" in between serves only to dilute the impact of the narrative, people give them more credit than they deserve.
Diablo 3's story is awful. The game wouldn't have been much different without an

Wow, 7 ships? I think I have 3, maybe. Had no luck unlocking other stuff. I did come maddeningly close to beating the game, but I ran out of time before the very last fight. :( Should have been more liberal with spamming my repair drones instead of trying to find a repair station. For weapons, I've found that I have good success with burst lasers, particuarly when I found a burst laser III. Pair that up with the II that the Kestral starts with

Haven't loaded it since.
Pretty much that, only I tried to keep going and found that it was a good cure for insomnia. This is a game with no particular longevity. I really feel like I got nowhere near my monies worth out of it and for a Blizzard game it was hugely disappointing. The worst thing really is how much emphasis they put on the auction house as

Neat technology. Not practical in the real world because of the infrastructure requirements and the fact that you just can't eliminate the latency it adds no matter what you do. Making this profitable would require charging more then most people will pay for it.
Quoting Savyg, reply 6I remember when Bethesda tried to claim ownership over the word Scrolls! Yup. You know I wonder if them and Mojang ever had that game of Team Fortress 2... Clearly Stardock and Rebellion should settle this over a game of civilization.
The scrolls thing was because Mojang tried to trademark "Scrolls", which would then have impacted Bethesda's use of the word in "The Elder Scrolls.

And if you think that one might be great, still have another think about whether you want to take the risk. There's not much you gain (apart from rubbish DLC) and a lot to lose with pre-ordering any game these days.
We have a winner. It's sad but true. Pre-orders are for suckers. TOR is now below 1 million subscribers. They won't say how many, just that it's over 500,000. Also it's going free to play, in what has to be a speed record for a subscription game to make the switch.

After working through some of my game backlog (by playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was awesome), I went ahead and picked Endless Space up. Really liking it so far, though the tech trees are kind of overwhelming when I'm looking for a tech that does a specific thing and don't know where it is. Also having approval problems, but I think I expanded into too many systems too quickly.

64 bit won't get going until games no longer target XP for support. So long as they do, they require a 32 bit version. Making an extra 64 bit version is more work then its worth. Once XP's gone, then it'll start making sense to do it.

I'd like Gamestop more if they didn't tell me when I go there to buy a new game that I should have pre-ordered it. This is a games store, right? They don't stock games? One time they actually gave me a lecture about this. I went across the street and bought at Future Shop instead, which somehow does not have a problem stocking more then one copy of a new game. Course, that was before I got fibre internet. Now there's no reason to waste gas driving when Steam has everyt
Also for Tridus: they can't lie to their shareholders. If they did they'd be ruined.
It's not lying. They measure "subscribers" as anybody who still has active game time. By giving people free game time, they're extending how long they're subscribers. I cancelled over two months ago, and am still a subscriber. Somehow I've gotten enough free time that I'll be considered one until late August.
Ultimately, it comes down to choice. I won't use steam and that's my choice. Others will decide to use it....probably the majority. It's sad cause Steam sees this too and they abuse it. They know most people are too lazy to go out and purchase they're software. They expect the 'I want know' attitude and set it such that you sell your soul to do so.
Okay, kindly point out what store I
Hum... Is it really good? I've often liked tower defense games but they often get repetitive and boring quickly...
Depends how you define repetitive. It's one of my favorite genres and this is one of the better games in it. If you don't like this one, there isn't much else to recommend that's better as a pure TD game. Hybrids like Dungeon Defenders aren't really the same thing. <
