Chuck Tales From the Producers of [AAR... RGH?]I wanted my first game to be epic and... and "Oh hai! I'm Lady Irane of Tarth" , the new superproduction: Chuck Tales. Based on a powerful hero leading a bunch of people who distrust magic and that loves to kick ass, these are the tales of Chuck of Mundania, powerful warrior like no one else.
Must it be 1.1? Why not a "Public 1.09z" or something while the latest details of 1.1 are worked on?
The problem is that the experience starting in a coast with barely forests and starting in an area sorroudnded by forests is really different. From one point of view, it's fine because it forces us, the players, to adapt to what the game throws us to the face. But starting on a coast with barely a few trees to spawn monsters is cakewalk, while starting sorrounded by forests becomes annoying quite soon. Spiders are actually easy as they
Put the spawns back in friendly territory, please.
I vote for this suggestion instead of Civ style.
Usual suspects: Sometimes it's difficult to hunt down the lonely ones when they are close to one of those and your army is still using diapers. :P
Supposedly, Studies evolve like Pokemon once the city reaches Level 2. In 1.09s with Gilden, that didn't happen ever. In 1.09s with a custom Faction it didn't happen. In 1.09t with a custom Faction, it doesn't happen. I haven't been able yet to try it with a non custom Faction for 1.09t. I get no warnings when one of my treaties end. I'm trying to check if I get any in the minievent icons to the right (I didn't consider that at first) but still, maybe it deserves something mo
Played one (ongoing) game for a bit more than 3 hours without crashes. Usually it crashes sooner than that. That said, before I had to close the game I was like: Debug Message: - Ending Turn 239 - Debug Message: Current Memory Usage: 1587232 KB Debug Message: Cities in World: 13 Debug Message: Units in World: 333 So maybe it was a matter of some turns more. :P
Same game, many turns later. Issue with default equipment of a champion and not being shareable. I decide to save and reload. Saves fine but when I select the saved game to load it: crash
I'm not even sure if I had time to click End Turn or not, only that suddenly the only Elemental that was still active was the music. Terrain Type: Land is being deleted at an unsafe time. 2012!!! [e digicons]XO[/e]
Yep good idea .. could also do something akin to that regarding mana, add mana upkeep, income / mana pool
I suppose that people playing at highest resolutions have lots of space... And I choose to ignore stuff added my mods. :P
I saw something with one of my cities that I had conquered two turns ago but that had kept the enemy ZOC. So I decided to save and load, to check if that effect persisted or not. I saved successfully but when I went to the main menu and clicked the Load menu... Crash!
After a "big" battle (and after forgetting to save the game), I hit End Turn and the game simply crashed with the usual Windows screen about closing the App. Lasted about 59 minutes playing. :P CTD on End Turn

Except for the game that I'm playing right now in which I have an horde at the gates in turn 3, playing on Normal I don't see much of roaming monsters. ANd lately the worlds seem very very very barren. Thank goodness for resource tech spawn. Has anyone else notice that: 1 -if you enter the Shop with a character that is not the Sovereign 2 -but that is in the same stack as the Sovereign 3 -that said Sovereign doesn't appear as one of the character
Seeing that the art team is part of the ongoing completion/update/whatever is a good thing, but no, I still can't "feel the magic,"
You complain about game mechanics, which the thread is not about (that was the point). So what can I say? Be back after the second expansion is released, suffered some patches and Elemental is considered unsupported?*
Looks great. No
Thank you. :)
No, we have something interesting: magic isn't in a closed vat anymore.
No, we don't have magical ways to counter anything (anything magical I mean). It's all "I use this. Deal with the consequences.". For some things is fine and good but it shouldn't be like that for everything. Anyway... Derek, I'm dissapoint. Where is the release date? :P
(for instance, by having it take several turns to cast... several turns you'd have to spend in front of the enemy city).
Nothing personal, I promise, but I must say to that precise part... Meh . Give me proper magical counter measures. If the only "counter"* is to have the enemy channeler camping in front of the city and hope for me to be able to have an army that can stop him, we have a very se
At the start of each game, Janusk can use as his appearenace (and abilities) that of some Champions in the game. Most of the time he will "replace" Vaenia but he can take other appearence and abilities (as long as the Champion is male).
Okay, I missed that one somehow as well. So it's not just enough to have the shard in your sphere of influence? Hmm...
The Shard will produce mana once in your area of influence and built over it. To be part of the city just makes it more difficult to have the temple destroyed by random monsters/enemies.
Gone are the days when spells barely had their own picture. Gone are the days when you had trouble finding something awesome and related to it. Yes, there are still some but the same as the game has improved greatly since 1.09f, so has the visual department improved. I'm of those "lucky" ones that loves the art style so I'm happy happy. I could be nit picky with some details of some but to the people in charge of this part of the game. Thank you!* It feels great to open the spellbook
Ah, I have read Tolkien but not Jordan. From Tolkien I jumped to Hambly, Moorcock, Williams, Cherryh and little more. I haven't been able to read lately (pending The Dark Tower books by Stephen King) but once I get my job done with them, I'll look for Martin's. :) Thanks!
yeah maybe it's time to start harping on the quest system, lack of skills trees for heroes, the need for common/uncommon/rare/set items, etc. harp! harp! harp!
Sounds like a plan! [e digicons][/e]
