It's getting very annoying that about every other military tech I research the game says a "New Unit is Available". Not to mention it's terrible at naming the unit. It's quite annoying when I got 5 unit designs and 3 are named Duke but all 5 of them have the SAME STATS. The AI tries to design a new unit everytime you get a few new military techs but it simply designs the SAME unit that you had before since no new equipment was researched. Not to mention it would be nice to have some consistency as one time a Duke is a weak lightly armored guy then test time after some new equipment is had Duke is some really strong heavily armored unit.
The auto designer kinda sucks anyway as it seems to mostly take the best equipment you have and slap in on a unit design. Since most of the weapons and armor come in a linear fashion in the game it pretty easy to know in what order they are going to be unlocked. And I would much rather see some well designed units show up when you unlock the tech to build them then poorly designed Random units. I mean first time I played through when I unlocked Scout and Observer I thought oh they have some premade units along the path for people who don't wanna build their own. Well NOPE turns out next time the stats were different since I focus more on techs without equipment in military tree I got scout and observer that weren't much better then peasents.
I think it's a lot more useful to the player to know when they see "Scout now available" that they actually know what stats the scout has. Rather then having to go check and see what the Auto Design threw together. Because if this doesn't change I want the option to turn it off because I don't want it making any units since I NEVER use them. I just started deleting them so they don't clutter up my design tree.
Also this would cut down on the AI having several dozen units all with the same stats but different names which is just plan dumb.
