My views on “Elemental War of Magic”.
First off let me say, I do trust Stardock to do all they can to make this a great game, my heart goes out to the folks who were laid off.
I like it as well; I am one of the folks who can play 300-400 turns before any issues on stability.
To me at this time the game is more a “Toy” than a true game, please bear with me on this.
In the same way Sim City was more Toy than game.
In order to push it more into the “Game” side I think in addition to the Stability, Master List, and AI updates, a more holistic approach is also needed.
By this I mean, the Program has a set of very good parts, and as Stardock updates, these will improve, but at the same time another person or two, should be looking at how to merge all these parts into something greater than their sum.
Elemental has Bugs, and these are being squashed, systems are being revamped and adjusted.
I am just asking that the Whole of the Game, also be looked at when it can.
I know there was a Great Vision for this game.
Please try and keep it while doing all the technical fixes.
Brad as you said you are very close to the game, I am not sure if the Keeper of the Vision should be you or another. Your passion for the game is plain for all to see, but you may need another to shape the technical and vision together. As CEO that is your choice and burden. If you use another person some of your ideas will shift and be changed, this is normal though often unsettling.
Good Luck to all at StarDock, I will be looking forward to see where all this leads, and what “Elemental War of Magic” becomes.
