Just an idea that popped up late last night while playing the beta.
In strategy games like Elemental there are many battles being fought. Most of these are forgotten right after they end, but sometimes you have these epic fights that makes you raise your hand and cheer, like an idiot, in front of you monitor.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could go back and watch these battles later? And wouldn't it be cool if these events actually lived on as legends inside the game?
My suggestion is: Make it possible to build a monument/memorial at locations where there have been large battles. Say 500 units is the lower limit to be considered "large". When you have fought a battle like this and won, a buildable resource location is created (like a mine or similar). If the location is within your territory, you can build a memorial.
Positive effects if you have these memorials inside your territory could be slightly increased Morale for your troops, and/or increased Prestige for your kingdom.
To make the memorial even cooler, maybe if you click on it you get to see a replay of the battle and maybe some notes about it (that you can write yourself).
Another idea is to create something similar for fallen heroes, but then instead make the memorial buildable in your capital city. If you click the memorial, pictures of the dead heroes and a list of their important deeds show up.
Just some ideas to make the world more alive.
