This is my first time really beta testing anything, and I'm coming late to this besides, so I figured most of my larger ideas would probably be either bad or already stated. So, I thought I should try to notice small details that maybe no one had thought of. I'm going to try not to comment on anything I know is being worked on, like the UI or quests. Here goes.
- I read through the descriptions of the pre-generated leaders. Not sure if they're there to stay as is, but if they are, I just want to point out that General Carrodus is described as, "an inspiring leader of men" but his Charisma, IIRC, is a bare 10 (if it isn't a 10, it's low, but I think it's a ten). This struck me as at odds with the description, but I have to say charisma seems like the most useless stat to me right now, so maybe it was a gameplay decision?
- Sovereign creation. Obviously this still seems like a work in progress, but a couple of things I'd like to mention now anyway, because why not. One, a default button for the color sliders might be nice - I was monkeying around with skin tone for some of my personal creations, and then realized I couldn't get back to the starting tone without exiting out of the whole shebang. Two, under the race option, it might be nice to add some flavor text that displays if you hover the mouse over it. Unless you intend to include all that in the manual rather than in game.
That's it for now. I'll keep trying to find small things (as in, not the fact that I won a diplomatic victory by flooding everyone who wasn't my ally into oblivion as they sat idly by and tried to figure out how to evolve gills ala Kevin Costner from Water World). Sorry if it seems nitpicky, just trying to help.
