preface: I an not currently in beta (come on beta 3
) so if any of my ideas are already in game ignore them.. I have seen some these ideas in part or whole in others threads.. all i am doing here is putting together how I think it could done and add some fun as well as function to the Dynasty portion of the game..
also please note I am unaware of how many game turns are equal to a year of time. (1, 10, 100?)
1. At birth name of a child and basic stats (these should be between 1 and 3) after what infant has the strength to lift a sword..
2. some where between 3 and 5 (stats a little higher now with only hints of what child might excel at..) at this point proud parent gets to choose one of the following fields (these represent the direction that we hope to guild them much like enrolling them in a preschool) of focus... now this will not guarantee that the child's stats will improved in that fields basic/better stat choice but rather represents a potential boost ( 1 or 2 points ) to final adult stat.
(note if i associate a stat with the wrong school let me know so i can fix it heh)
1) diplomacy: improved chance for charisma bonus.
2) research: improved chance for intelligence bonus.
3) magic: improved chance for wisdom bonus.
4) athletics: improved chance for constitution bonus.
5) motor skills: improved chance for dexterity bonus.
6) combat: improved chance for strength bonus.
3. around 13 to 15 stats are a amalgamation or parents and earned above bonuses.. then we foster them to a local noble that excels at a particular training. this represents where we get to choose their profession, spell books,weakness and talents.. (however I like the idea that they may not have access to full selection like our sovereigns but more like a best 2 or 3 choices based of their stats..)
4. once fostering is done we i.e. age of majority (this should take a few game years and equate to age 18 to 21) we get to out fit them like a hero or have them govern a town where their end skills benefit us.. and or marry them off as tools for diplomacy as well..
this could also apply to all subsequent children....
other possible features to Dynasty..
1. heirs: if sovereign dies an heir could continue on line... i am not sure at this point if sovereign is immortal or not..
2. traitors: allows for part of the kingdom to rebel with one of our decedents as the leader of this civil war heh..
3. kidnapping: pretty much potential quest line where descendant is taken and if quest fails/demands not met dscendant pays price..
hmm thats all at the moment but give me a few minuets LOL...
