- A major point I have - I could tell I was playing the same sort of game as GalCiv2. I spent a LOT of turns just waiting for the next tech development.
- Often spawned right next to fairly powerful enemies. One example was being in a circular mountain range...with a Sand Golem guarding the exit from said range. Yeah...not convenient. Would really prefer to spawn near weaker enemies. Or none at all.
- Often went stabbity on innocent NPCs because it was a real pain to recruit them. Other times, I'd have my Sov go somewhere, only to find that (once the fog of war cleared) he was going to the same tile as a NPC. The NPC died a horribly painful death. I'd really love to have the power to 'plot and confirm' like some other games - I click once, a path forms. I click again, the character/group moves.
- Regarding techs...I say this with a grain of salt. Mainly, I felt that I had no idea what each tech would do unless it was explicitly given to me, IE: Housing or farming. I'd love to have something like was done in Alpha Centauri - each tech says what it comes from and what it leads into. Took me a while to understand that Civics -> Housing.
- Wouldn't mind being able to do something with our city backgrounds. That is, we write up an initial background (or, in MP games, they're randomly generated) and from there, whatever happens adds to it.
- Not sure if it'd be difficult to implement, but the power to create/edit our own equipment (that is, for our soldiers) would be something fun to do. Aside from just imbuing items magically.
- Again, grain of salt - the whole premise of techs is that 'modern society' (IE, the current factions) are recovering old techs. Not sure if it's hard to do, but seeing more techs that are actually new things. Perhaps randomly, perhaps after recovering X% or Y number of old techs, or whatever.
- I felt that cities were too small. I had a 5th level city that just was 'there' and didn't really seem to have any use aside from production and resource manipulation.
- Watchtowers felt kinda useless. Perhaps an upgraded form of them as a boon from a tech.
- I would personally love to have the power to take the forts tech that we get and build...actual forts on the map. It seems kinda silly to me that the only defensive structures we can build are our cities - Age of Wonders had a unit that could build watchtowers on the map, which were great for holding chokepoints. I'm just looking for the power to build something other than cities on the map.
