[Suggestion] Double left click on city should open the close up build screen.
I am constantly double clicking on the city expecting the build menu open when you closup to the city. I think it is quite natural shortcut.

some might argue that double clicking a city should bring up the city details screen. Ya know? Which city action should really be the default one that comes up when double-clicking? it's hard to say. Which is why we just have the city "actions" tab.
Although it would be nice to have a key configuration option to set/change the double click defaults for cities and units
My point is that there should be one. And I am sure that CIV players would want to have a build screen (and I do suspect that majority who play this game are familiar with civ). But of cource the configuration options are even better.
Actually, why do we need detail and build screens as two different screens? Can they be combined?
Enabling a double-click (with or without optional results) would save significantly on pointer moving for a common UI task.
Me, I'm still crazy enough to want right-clicks to pop context menus always and everywhere. (After all, this is a PC game from a committed Windows shop.) If I have a unit selected and right-click something else, I want info, navigation, & attack options. If have nothing selected or right-click a selected city, I want commands that save me the bother of moving my pointer down to the status area and clicking a tab.
I think that right click also can be good idea. And I am not talking windows right click type of interface, but the one that gives your icons arond cursor when you right click (those icons can have sub-menues/sub icons as well if you click them).
It is strange that they try to save scrolling time by letting us drag the map, yet they want us to go through the menus on the bottom of the screen, which is fine but if one has "accelerators" through things like double click or middle click or sub-icons through right click that would save mouse movement time significantly.
Also, the more I think the more I like the idea of civilization-like build screen combined with info screen about the city. There is no need to have two different screens if they can be combined.
Before the forums backup, someone suggested a radial menu : double click and you get the icons around the city hub.
I really like that idea.
