The following are suggestions in question form:
Is it in the current system that your interactions with other channelers are stored, weighed and ranked for significance, such that a calculated net summation would set the general level of trust and influence you have?
Does each interaction type have its' own consideration such that dishonesty with an ally in war will not necessarily have negative effect on post-war trading? And that generous trading will not necessarily prevent hostilities?
Does the AI track trends and strategies such as vying for peace, alliance and solidarity when it suits your cause, only so you can amass military strength and position units for a betrayel? How many times is a convenient peace treaty ratified before the AI detects the pattern?
Does each AI opponent keep tabs on the interactions between other opponents for the purpose of gauging trustworthiness by measuring the history of dealings. If so, how does information travel and how is this affected by distance if at all? Is it that all things are known all of the time by all opponents, or is there a fog of communication, and if so how is it implemented?
How much does personality affect diplomatic exchanges? For example, if a certain AI opponent has a characteristic of ungratefulness, how much will this reduce the positive effect of gifting? Might some peronalities take offence to actions such as gifting or imbalanced trading? Could you gain the respect and support of certain personalities by defeating them in battle? Do other personalities respect successful attempts at deceit, betrayel and espionage, and would they tend to ally with an opponent who has a history of those things?
What kind of strategies are available to the varying AI opponents? Are these strategies tied in with their personalities? Do opponents gauge the military strength of other opponents when they go looking for an ally? If for example Opponent A cannot make an alliance with Opponent B, does it look to form an alliance with an ally of Opponent B to gain some buffer of protection? What kind of problems arise if any, from attacking the ally of an ally? Is there any implemented effect at all between two opponents who share the same ally?
Will your offspring be murdered if you attack the empire to which they are tied? Is there a chance that instead they might defect and become an enemy, or is none of this relevant?
Is there some period of time after which previous diplomatic dealings are forgotten and not factored in? For example, if you diplomatically ended a war with a certain opponent 150 years ago, will that event still be factored in to any current and future dealings, and if so, is the significance of the event decreased? Is there a "time heals all wounds" algorithm that gradually reduces the significance of past events as time goes by?
Is there any racism due to, say a history of bad blood between races? Do races tend to favour their own? Are there certain affinities or natural good dealings between some races?
What are the different kinds of treaties, pacts or agreements that can be put in place between opponents, and will there be actual in-game documentation detailing the items listed in any agreement (i.e. can you read the treaty terms and conditions)? Do any agreements include provisos about non-shared allies?
I apologise if many of these points have been asked or addressed before. There are probably many more, but this is all I've brainstormed so far.
Thank you.
