I basicaly can not play Elemental because of the random crashes. It freezes computer to a "gray screen", i.e. everything becomes gray. I have Vista and GTX 260. So, I can not go in depth suggestions because of the luck of gameplay.
However, one thing is very noticable - it is hard to understand the economy. Somehow it should be done better. For example, when you see resources, it should be obvious what are they spent for. Say what influence food has? No idea. Wood? I suspect it somehow goes into calculation of # of turns to produce some building, but I do not see those calculations! It would be nice to have something like city view in Civ IV, where you can see that hammers are spend on buildings and food on population grouth etc. You already have equivalent of this - the building mode. Just add more info there. You can add lots of info about city in much more details showng all calculations and math behind it. So that player could understand the workings of economy by just looking and analysing this screen.
Other suggestions: Double click on the city should go into city building mode (when the city is close-up, with all the extra info)
It should be more obvious how many free tiles the city has. Visually more obvious? This tiny sign "2 more tiles available" or somehting alone this lines on the buttom of the screen does not cut it.
Also, somehow the hero information is not available. I mean, how mana is generated? What is the sourse of mana generation? Health? Same confusion. This should be obvious from some info screenes, and currently it is not!
I guess what I am saying here is that I am lost in this game. I do not undestand the relation of different parts. Much more work is needed, and I am not talking just about better description but about info screens with some math in them.
