But then what about researchers and merchants? They are only usefull for about 50 turns or until schools are buildable. I would support a percentage bonus supplemented with a +1 to make them useful in the early game and maybe they get special abilities after the high level university and abbey are built.
Exceptional idea. There is no real usefulness for a "Merchant Champion," "Research Champion," etc. to have
There's less garden building now but I still don't see the point of it. Houses you still need to build just the same. Every starting location should have enough food available to become a major city on its own and to feed another settlement or two. Then it would be up to the player whether to try and find another fertile location for a big city (should be very rare) or found smaller, specialized villages or forts. I'd like t
The current way ruins immersion. The realistic way is a PITA. What do we do?
Agree on all that...Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic had an exceptional system where item transport cost "mana" based on the distance b/t two characters. The current E:WoM system could be significantly exploited as just prior to combat you could trasnport all you best
After some particular movements, a "mirror character" will appear as both a paperdoll as well as cloth map figure. This figure is a duplicate of another in a party, it cannot be selected, and generally occurs after some leave/re-combine event of a party of 2 or more. This continues from prior build. Picture linked below. http://screencast.com/t/MjdhZGI5ZmQt
The compass quest turns into a telescope quest as noted by the linked screen shot. http://screencast.com/t/NjFjYjExYmE Furthermore, text is wrong in the beginning saying, "...Seeking the a Compass Quest."
When expending 2/10's of a point on the Sovereign's movement, it is apparently not saved at the main attributes screen (see screen shot below). As shown by the Level, all points were allocated to Movement. However, during mouse-over on Sovereign's Master Screen, Movement went from "1.0 to 2.0." Interesting given Sovereign starts at 2 movement points in this build. http://screencast.com/t/YjA0N2U3NTI
Confirmed this as well... both paperdoll and cloth map figures disappeared.
I as well-- both my sister and dad to begin with. I think color-blind "friendly" issues should absolutely be addressed and I think you offer some sound solutions.
I think this adjacency is a very good idea. To expand upon the adjacency concept, why not include the "Master Planning" concept in the idea? For example, think of the layout of Washington DC which clearly makes it a "unique locale." Why not gain some benefits, not specifically spelled out but to be discovered during gaming, whereby if you create a particular design (say 4 farms in a box or 4 farms in a row) you gain certain benefits? You could have a City Ha
I think it's worth mentioning that it's still a beta, and that Frogboy has gone through pains to make it explicitly clear it is not supposed to be fun yet. So basically, what I'm trying to say is that you're expecting too much from an early beta that shouldn't be fun in the first place. If it's August 1st and it still isn't fun, then there might be reason to worry, but right now it's way too early.
I fully understand
Include free tickets to a circus with the purchase.
That's incredibly helpful... but you got way under 100 words.
Idea: Please don't make a lot of quests where I have to GO to a location and RETURN to a location to get the reward. This is just a waste of time as I see the same landscape I've been on, it feels very MMO-like, it usually takes too long to get there, and just isn't much "fun." If you are going to do this "RETURN TO SOURCE" at least make me go to 3-5 other locations first so I can "see the world."
I am not going to limit my introduction to 100 words. I have been following elemental closely for a few months, posted reasonably often in the last 4-6 weeks, and wanted very much to get involved in the Beta 2 program. I am a huge fan of Stardock as a company, a long-time game player of many genres, and have been reasonably successful "modding" such as developing Neverwinter Nights' "The Graveron Seduction" module. All of this is just a prelude to indicate I have no int

Turn differential for me was turn 111 versus my own save
1. For the life of me can't find the: First and foremost, each time you run the game it will generate a log named debug.err. This file will always be located at My Documents\My Games\Elemental In other words, I have show hidden files/folders and don't see a debug.err in the alledged folder path (Win 7 64-bit). 2. How do you paste a picture into the forum test? Tried to "paste" from Paint program but the "paste" selection is grayed ou
Agreed-- How about little seashells (along the seashore) for the beaches ala "Shell Gas Station" sea shells (conch?).
I could solve this by just saving and relaoding when I had a grayed out turn button. Anyhow this is a think which should not happen.
Same issue, for ALL save games (4 total). Game save file available if desired (appears have enough). Note COULD NOT use work-around noted above as did not work for me. In effect, all Save Games Fatal Crash and would have to start new game to continue.
During an escort mission, I lost one of the nobles. However, despite the fact the noble was dead, the "golden" location on the cloth map still appeared. This complicated things as two escort quest were in effect and it was difficult to determine which location was active. Link below showing picture (upper quest location on right is the "dead" quest). http://screencast.com/t/NDYwNThkYT
When escorting a noble during a quest (total party of 4), I believe when adding the 4th character the noble "duplcated" and was left behind in the tile. Mouse-over of the character showed nothing-- character exists but cannot move. Screenshot on Jing here (duplicate character on right) http://screencast.com/t/NjE4MTc5YT
Okay I pre-ordered Elemental about 3 days ago and JUST got the confirming e-mail... So for those of you just starting to participate in Beta 2 you'll be good. Just wait... :P
Quoting Bill_Door, reply 41 I totally agree. I really wonder why Brad chose traditional TBS combat.I'd be interested to know too. I'd generally assume it's due to not knowing about it, but that's hard to imagine in this case. I'm guessing the non-simultaneous system is easier/faster/etc. to make (as simultaneous requires keeping track of each unit's route, calculating when collisio
