Experiencing this too. Have to get out of the game back to the desktop, cross fingers, and reload. Don't presently have a save game.

I agree with the OP sentiments as I too would like to see Elemental become as well reviewed as GalCiv and be a Top-20 game on MetaCritic, GameRankings, etc. While I believe it will eventually get to this state through several patches, I do NOT think it will be in that position for a 1.0 or 1.01 release that will be reviewed by IGN, Gamespot, etc. Given all the game mechanic debates that have been going on, the continued tweaking, the feature shut-down in less than a
Various crashes under these cirumstances. Two different files included: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8940115/Elemental0_806-2010-07-11T11-19-47-445.zip http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8940115/Elemental0_806-2010-07-11T11-28-44-646.zip
Been reporting this since .803: There are ocassions when joined adventurers/characters will have a mirror copy. In earlier iterations these would stay still on the map. In this iteration the mirror character just "follows along." It can be elimated regularly by detaching from the stack and reattaching. http://screencast.com/t/ZjI4N2UwMT
The Champion unit shown in the attached screen was acquired during the new City level-up selction (get Guardian or some such). Despite the fact this champion has been in combat with the stack on numerous ocassions, the Champion is not gaining any experience points and levelling up. http://screencast.com/t/YzEwNWZjMTY
I was unable to see what the rings in the attached screenshot performed UNLESS I un-equipped these rings first. I do not know how many items this applies to yet, but all should have mouse-over info. whether equipped or not. http://screencast.com/t/NTE1NTJkN2Mt
Only one settlement built, with one hut and one farm as shown in following screen shot: http://screencast.com/t/NWQ2ZmM5NWEt If I only have 1 hut requiring one food and one farm able to produced 4 food, why do I only have TWO food in storage? (4-1 does not equal 2).
The following screen capture demonstrates the above Title: http://screencast.com/t/YmQwYTFiN I was able to clear this up after saving/re-loading the game. I do believe I started a "new" game without "re-starting" E:WoM when this "bug" occurred.
Another punctuation/spelling/grammar error: http://screencast.com/t/ZmMxNmZjO As well as a missing word error: http://screencast.com/t/NjJmYzFjMDc I really think a professional proofreader would do you good before release....
Difficult to replciate precisely but here is the file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8940115/Elemental0_806-2010-07-10T17-25-49-171.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8940115/Elemental0_806-2010-07-10T10-35-23-821.zip Title says it all. Saved a game under "OD" and upon loading game crashes to desktop. Win7 64-bit.
A very interesting video. You know, I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but having seen that and listening to the conversation, I have no idea how you plan on getting this product "finished" by July 16th for the gold mastering and August release date. I'm really curious how this all comes together in just over 1 week.

There appears to be formulaic issues with the way food is both calculated and displayed. Note the first screen shot showing 2.6 food available in the location even after just completing a 6-food Oasis: http://screencast.com/t/ZTc2YjViNDI The 2nd shot shows the same locale with different data displayed: http://screencast.com/t/YmQwYmRlNjc Note it the first s
Every time I found a city and a Pioneer Unit and the Soverign are in the same location (stacked), the Soverign is damaged, loses one Essence, flees to the newly found locale, and the following screen shows. Note in such an instance the Pioneer is NOT used up (while w/o the Sovereign the Pioneer IS used up). http://screencast.com/t/MTY3ZTdiO
Tried to give a Pioneer Unit a horse to increase movement but was unable to do so as illustrated in the following screen. This horse acquired through the quest. Don't know if it is a "bug" or design decision. Nearly all units SHOULD be able to ride horses. http://screencast.com/t/NzhjNTlkO
I have other graphics problems in the same shape but of different color as posted here: http://screencast.com/t/NTJlOWIwYj ATI 4850 512MB. I've tried different GFX setting (but not windowed mode) to no effect.
This lets new players understand how important fertile land is. Anyone who thinks that growing food is something easy should try it sometime in the real world. We Americans tend to take it for granted. Food is a very VERY valuable resource and should be treated as such. And WILL be treated as such. If someone has a problem with that, they're free to find another game to play.
Wow.... You really gave us a TON of insight there. Thank you so much.
You're quite the impatient ingnoramous, aren't you?
Although all of us have yet to see Beta 3, based on the Beta 3 Dev Journal, I have to absolutely concur with the OP that Essence is now broken. Here are the relevant B3 passages with respect to Essence: It only costs essence if you need to revive the land from the OPPOSITE ideology’s magic source Spells do not cost Essence. Only mana. Your mana max is equal to your essence. Initial essence = to unit’s intelligence. </
Uh, did we ever get a answer to what is WISDOM used for since the spell changes above? [e digicons]O:)[/e] [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Aura of Ugliness: Prestige and Charisma in targeted AOE is halved for spell's duration. Forgetfulness: Unit (e.g. Sovereign) loses one Experience Level. Boomerang: Spells cast on target are reflected back at target's caster. <span style="text-decoration: underlin
Again, I ask, different how? A Fireball is a Fireball. The only possible potential difference would be the power/damage output. A L3 buffed up FB is not different than a L4 buffed up FB... I do not disagree that 100 Balanced spells would beat 300 that aren't but power levels is not a real gauge of spell differentiation...
Hopefully this will answer your question, John, but note it is only ideas.
Im curious what does Wisdom do after all these changes? Since mana is based off essence which is based off of your int and the power of the spell is based off your int.... And mana regen is default to 1 at start. What does Wisdom do again?
Seems several of us posters herein are concerned about what Wisdom now does. I'm pretty curious myself....
