Funny thing is, I didn't really have many problems playing the game other than the occasional OOM crash. I looooved the game at first and defended it vehemently despite it's many flaws and poorly handled release. Now, I'm starting to see what many see.. it's just not deep enough. I find that in the end, I delay trying to stomp the AI just to make the game last and see how far I can research before I have to go after the AI. The variety

And by this you mean I'd have to purchase these stand alone mods? My understanding of "stand alone" is that it could play without the core Elemental game, right? I guess, in the end, if it were good enough, I'd buy anything.
Honestly, the inability to send a bug report more easily/quickly has kept me from doing so. Considering how often it happens, they ought to have something automated (kind of like Windows does). Not sure how feasible that is, but you'd get a lot more bug reports, and it sounds like they're needed considering Brad's post about not having gotten enough feedback from enough different configurations. But, it's probably too late for that at this point.
When you open game, first screen has version in the bottom. Alternatively, in Impulse, it has it right there in "Games".. not sure exactly. And once you see it, you can hover your mouse over the version to see exactly which is is such as 1.0725 or whatever it's at now.
How difficult are they to install and make them your OS drive? Is it a matter of simply installing it and installing windows on it and making it the first drive to boot?
Um. Awesome. You. Rock.
Seeing how things have gone lately, Froggy would get his ass kicked, but make no excuses about it and promise to not do as badly next time . ;)
great, thanks everyone!
I think it would help us newbs to know what version of the game these mods were made for and whether or not it shouldn't be downloaded with the most recent update. For example, have a (1.07) at the end of entry so we know. Is this idea even necessary? I ask because I don't want a old mod to override any new patch updates without me being fully aware of it. Thanks!
Hey everyone, I've been religiously d/ling mods as they come out but I'm afraid of any conflicts that might arise from having them especially now that 1.07 is out. Is there any way for me to know what files were in the original "Units" folder upon installation? I want to be able to delete any files I've added to the folder and start d/l mods from scratch. Thanks!
can I give negative karma to the OP? [e digicons][/e]
[quote who="Board_Marshal" reply="32" id="2753627"] However, if such a loyal and powerful consumer base exists then I don't see why another developer wouldn't come along to meet the demand, or why the probability of that happening is so low. I would think that the developer who could deliver on the promise of the perfect (or near perfect) fantasy/civ/4x TBS would basically become a legend. With that said, it would also make sense to me that it would be in the
Yes. Definitely. But when? I'd still say now, but if you're the type that is not willing to put up with potential issue (I say potential because I don't have crashes..yet), then wait until the 1.1 version, otherwise, I'm loving the game right now, and 1.07 gave me biiig performance boost. So I'd say get it, but get it with some patience in mind.
You can only unload units on that type of land next to water that looks like a ramp. Took me forever to figure that one out.
Maybe they ought to put limits somewhere along the lines of: 3 max lvl5 cities 5 max lvl4 cities 7 max lvl 3 cities ulimited lvls 1-2 cities. ?

It'd be nice to see some of the details on what was reworked.. or is it all in the Readme that I assume comes with the file?
Yawn. Nope not riled up. Just tired of the same thread every two minutes. I feel your pain from your very legitimate complaints.. (well I assume they're legit, I got though the 1st of your many paragraphs), I really do. Just bored with the complaints and people's inability to find an existing thread to add to (especially when not adding anything new). No, and you can download the entire latest version of the game as long as we're around, just as with all our other games. That includes any new content that is or will be added to the base game, such as Campaign Book 2. We can't rule out the possibility of expansions since any timetables for such things are in flux until the p

I also love the concept of 'searching' squares for magic sites.. .or resources.... or goody shacks?
