"Units" folder original contents

Help me figure it out..haha

Hey everyone,

I've been religiously d/ling mods as they come out but I'm afraid of any conflicts that might arise from having them especially now that 1.07 is out.  Is there any way for me to know what files were in the original "Units" folder upon installation?  I want to be able to delete any files I've added to the folder and start d/l mods from scratch.

Thanks!

If you mean My Games/Elemental/Units/ then everything in there should be safe to delete. The game only puts the definitions for custom units and Sovereigns that you made in game in there.

Which means you shouldn't delete the folder if you have any custom sovereigns or unit designs. :P Honestly, it doesn't matter what folder you throw the mods in. When the game starts, it reads all of them and it doesn't care where they are. You can stick all the mods into Quests and it wouldn't care :P

At this point I can't think of any mods that are incompatable with the patch to begin with. Your fear is likely nothing to worry about.

The "Units" folder, by default, has nothing in it except any custom sovereigns and units you've created. Or whatever else.

The old bugfix mod will break many things, so those absolutely have to be deleted.

...and the game only reads in mod data on the start of a new game not a save game.
