Brad obviously made the GBOR to vaunt high moral standards and increase business. If he made new business on a false premise, well that would make him like a lot of business leaders but it would also make him less special and unique and well "different from the pack" in my eyes.

That's fine, but then he needs to take down or amend the Gamer's Bill of Rights. He specifically said in that that no gamer should have to put up with a program that must be running for games to be played. This obviously goes against that., so it has to be one or the other - removing support for an important tenant of the GBOR or the whole GBOR, or not putting Steamworks into Sins. It's fine for future games as people can decide to get the game or not, but Sins:
Well, he chooses the latter if he doesn't make any changes. But I daresay he's already entered into a contract with Steam, despite all the things people are angry and upset about.
I like this idea, and of movement being reduced to 2 in enemy territory.
I think it should be highest defense units at the front, then other melee units, and range weapon carriers (including mage units) should always be at the back.
Basically, it's fine if you make Sins Steam only. What is not fine is doing it in an underhanded way, and doing it part way through the cycle of a single release (AFAIK Rebellion is still essentially part of Sins 1). So you have two choices now. Remove the Gamer's Bill of Rights, and say on the forums IN VERY OBVIOUS PLACES that you don't support it anymore, or make Sins not require Steamworks. You were the one who made the Bill of Rights, presumably to s
AFAIK, the AI is calculating moves at the same time the player is having their move, so it's not just during the end turn phase.
I had a wild lands quest last night, but after I saved, quit, and then restarted and reloaded the game, the quest did not show up in my quest log (either on the left of the screen, under the cities, or on the quest tab of the Kingdom Report window). I wonder if that will make it impossible to finish?
Yes, unless they've fixed it (I don't think they have AFAIK).
I like your idea. Frogboy, please consider it! =)
Actually Amiga OS was awesome, came a long time before MS and even (I think) Apple, had a graphical user interface and great games and software... shame about the poor marketing though...
Hey, and Aura of Vitality too, especially with one or more life shards! =) Just cast it on the last turn. Gilden's leader starts with it too.
Does it make the monsters more aggressive to AI factions?
Zubaz, keep doing what you're doing. You're right on the money, and the truth is, as long as you have a basic amount of money, happiness is more important, and more importantly very achievable. You know the phrase "what you focus on is what you tend to get"? I think you would. Wonders and horrors abound in the world, but gentle happiness is available for a good many people. If you are always looking for bad stuff, you will miss the good stuff. Whe
I think if the AI asks for more than you have, then if you accept the game would say "You don't have enough gildar, so you are unable to pay off this player" or some such, and the AI would treat you as if you said no.
Brad or someone else from Stardock has stated that no matter where you buy Rebellion, it will require Steamworks. At least at this point in time.
This was already reported in a previous FE beta. If you modify a pioneer (no modding, just in the unit editor), then use it in another game (possibly after quitting the application), it won't be able to settle but it will be able to build roads. It's easy to reproduce this way.
It could be, for experience of the new unit, and the amount of building turns (as percentage of new unit): New Experience = (Original Size/New Size) x Old Experience Training Time = (Original Size/New Size) x Normal Training Time for new unit of bigger size which would take care of the new units needing training, and also starting with no experience. See https://forums.elementalgame.com/418002/get;3091722 . Brad, what say you? Best regards, Steven.
Then there would be no achievements. Not sure if the other multiplayer features of Steam rely on Steamworks. Achievments are only small part of Steamworks Its major parts are related to multiplayer, cloud saves, community, autoupdates etc.
Achievements: nice idea but not necessary. Multiplayer: small market, except for FPS games. Cloud saves, nice have but not crucial. Community: Stardock ha
Good idea!
I can't see why Stardock can't just have all their published games available on Stardock Store, but also available at other DD providers if someone wants to buy them from there, but *without* the obligatory tie-in to Steam that is proposed for Sins, and maybe Elemental games in the future too. Stardock, what say you? What's wrong with selling from Steam without requiring Steamworks on every copy regardless of where it's purchased??
If they were casting a spell, they would have to use mana, to be true to the lore. ;-)
Yes, by getting a retaliation as default.
Pity, Workshop is not enabled yet.
GW2 will have datacenters in North America and Europe (not sure if they will be the same ones serving GW1, but probably that, with a few, or a lot, more computers in the datacenter). Not sure whether that means ping times for people not near there will still be acceptable.
