This. [e digicons]k1[/e] I would also suggest that the troops that spawn with a new city remain as intrinsic, strategically stationary militia troops, so you can't just take them out and bash the opposition. Also, the capital city the Sovereign founds would automatically get the three types of starting troops as intrinsic protection of the starting capital (initial recruits from the founding of the brand new kingdom or empire), which will help with defense and help prevent s

I would like to add my support for not making technologies too cheap. The problem was not that all techs were too expensive, it was that you needed to research certain techs in a certain order at the start of the game to be at all competitive, and that later techs, even with much increased research, required something like four times the research turns that early techs required with much less research. Research is something you can't really hurry - buildings and units can be r
Will damage spells be resistable, or magic resistance reduce the damage of damage spells?
Wow!
The Growth spell text needs to be changed to say that it only works on champions, not army units. Shrink works on army units and monsters though.
I like these ideas too, and even if there's only a small window for changing, I would encourage the devs to do so. =)
Remember this forum is Life, the Universe, and Everything, subforum Everything Else. So there's not much that doesn't fit in those. ;-)
Because of the hexes, of course. =)
I don't think this is intended.
See: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8710134/Markinn%20077%20Seven-F3.EleSav Defeat the Air Shrills and you should see this bug.
I agree. Armies which only serve to defend cities don't really unbalance the game, and if you have decent quantity and/or strength, you can make it hard to take over other cities in the critical early stages.
Is it possible you could release 0.78 not on a Thursday? We have mostly tried out all the possible combinations for 0.77 and we need a new version to give you more feedback and new bug reports. But if we absolutely have to wait almost three full weeks between 0.77 and 0.78 then I suppose we can play other games until 0.78 is released. I know 0.77 was released on a Friday, so I know there is at least some precedent for not releasing on a Thursday. Maybe you could rele
The "not being able to target Abeix because his square counts as impassable" strikes me as a technicality that obeys the letter of the law but destroys the spirit. Maybe fine, archers can't target him, but area of effect spells should be able to - AOE spells should *not* be limited to passable squares like they are currently, and they also should not be limited to avoiding all friendlies. What does a Fireball or a Blizzard spell or scroll care whether a tile is passable or not
Don't worry about it! It took various bug reports for Stardock to work out the save game corruption was due to an unlocking of a tech from a quest. It is better that sometimes people report a bug that has been addressed than to not report a bug that may not have been addressed at all yet! =)
The Full Beta option on Stardock Store My Products Page only downloads 0.75. That link doesn't change. To get the most up-to-date version of FE Beta, log back into Stardock Store and download the "Beta Update" and run it. This will update your version to 0.77. 0.78 is due next Thursday, with lots of changes from 0.77.
Before the beta started, it was stated that a visible path for army stacks was going to be implemented, just not for the first beta. It will be introduced, it has already been approved by Derek, the designer.
If you unlock a tech through a quest, such as Legendary Weapons (from the Arena quest) or Legendary Armor (from defeating a pack of Obsidian Golems) then all saves afterwards are corrupted and won't load. This should hopefully be fixed for 0.78.
I defeated Ableix by Autoresolve, without reloading since going into the Wildlands, and I didn't get the Trophy and the Quest didn't complete. There were no more monsters or locations left in the Wildlands. So there may be something with autoresolve too when trying to complete quests, but I also think that a lot of quests are just bugged, even if you don't reload after you start them.
I defeated Ableix, and was looking forward to using the various resources located around, however the land would not unlock (even though there were no monsters or locations left). This should definitely be fixed, as what's the point of going to the trouble of defeating a powerful Wildland if the game bugs out and doesn't let you use it afterwards?
This is a big issue. The number of times a big boss should be affected by the same spell is 1 at the most.
Sounds interesting, and would be a good use for diplomatic capital! =)
And it's possible to get up to +9 strength for units with trait selection - Rage, Muscle and Strength. Which means you can easily get a regular unit into low encumbrance, especially with a horse. I don't see why a trait called "Rage" would give added carrying capacity.
I like these ideas, and I think they would be worth trying out at some time. Having the rough terrain bonus for parties would allow them to nip into a neutral side's territory and complete a quest or the next stage of a quest, and preventing champions from taking cities on their own would reduce steamrolling tactics, and it just makes sense that cities have to be sieged by armies, not just powerful individuals.
There must be. This is a very big bug.
Weight should matter. I think this is a crucial balance issue for the entire game, so I think it is worth selling the merit to Stardock of more meaningful disincentives for having too heavy armor and equipment.
