Like it or not, the current system was at least partly created to give a disincentive to reload even if you did get an injury. I quite like the idea of more hard, time consuming quests to heal your heroes.

Yes. What is the point of spending research points getting all the way to high-tech, advanced, 9 person armies when a spell from pretty much the start of the game does extra damage precisely *because* there are more units AND to make it even worse there is no resistance to damage spells unless you have resistance to the element itself? Either fireball and blizzard need to be reduced in base damage, or overkill needs to be removed from everything but monsters that can never be on a
How about perks and flaws. Every champion would have a unique ability (one of a kind in the whole game) and a unique flaw (one of a kind in the whole game), related to their backstory - the more powerful the ability, the stronger the flaw. And these perks and flaws should affect how you use each particular champion.
One thing that is not made clear is that you can only have one spell charging up at the same time for the whole side in a battle. However if the bug is that an elemental has already appeared and then disappears, then that is something different.
Good points! I think FE can be still quite a good game, but it does lack that "spark", like Heroes of Might and Magic II or MOM have.
I agree. I was getting a bit carried away with black-and-white interpretations of the lore. ;-) What has been said since my comments regarding imbuing has made a lot of sense. =)
But why aren't the champions with magic sovereigns themselves?
I agree with this.
The explanation in Reply #3 hits the mark.
Post not relevant any more.
Not sure whether army units will get less than champions that survive the same battle though. Did you know, something that already is implemented is that if a champion dies in a battle, they don't get any experience if your side wins that particular battle? I think that is a good penalty for letting your heroes die (and it makes sense that if you fall, you get an injury and don't become more experienced =)).
I am an atheist but I don't mind people with a religion who don't use that to belittle or manipulate others (note I am not referring to your statement in your last post Sinperium ;-)). But the wonders of the World and the Universe(s) is something that will never be fully known, and I think it's good to keep that sense of wonder while still keeping an open mind and be able to be practical and evidence based. Like I said in the Quantum teleportation thread, the ability t
You make some good points. I think I (and I suspect, a lot of others) would prefer getting basic tech at the start of the game rather than having to research basic stuff each and every game.
Cool backstory!
There need to be some relatively common events, that effect single cities, and more rare, but still relatively more common than current world events, world events. I think there is either a bug with World Events or that they are just too rare still. I don't know of anyone who has played the beta who has reported getting a single World Event, and how many beta testers are there now? How many thousands? I think that tells us that the World Events are *just a little*
Wonderful! This is one of the good things to come from medical science and advanced technology! =)
I don't think it is stealing other's ideas if you making the mods for the love of the game and you are getting no financial reward from them. And I mean, how many ideas are totally original, very first person who expressed them in the history of the world, anyway? ;-)
I imagine only Champions that start with one or more Magic Schools will be able to cast spells. I would strongly disagree with Champions without any spell schools being able to cast *any* spells, even general ones that currently have no schools.
Potion of Restoration. As well as healing all injuries on one champion, it heals for 100 Hitpoints. I can't imagine that you'd wait for a battle to use it though (and it takes a while for a champion to reach 100HP unless you keep buffing your Constitution).
Maybe GetNumFireShards returns 1 when there are 0, and used for normal basis for spells when there are no extra shards. This is the way it may have been working in WoM, I recall that GetNum shards may return "number of shards + 1".
Maybe the next (or only) remaining city does not have enough room for all the defeated heroes? It may be there needs to be some other place to put defeated heroes if the next city does not have room for all the defeated heroes and sovereign. See the attached save. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8710134/LotsOfHeroesInCity.EleSav EDIT: I was able to get past the above crash when I defeat
What do other people think about these ideas?
I like this idea of a fanfare sound effect for any turn a city queue becomes empty. =)
