Soon, customers who are receiving FE for free or at the discounted rate will be able to upgrade to the retail box if desired.
Nice! That seems like a big step. I'm not a gaming guru, but I think FE will do well in the market. I've been heartened to see FE beta so well received, and hope for it's success as a profitable venture. I think the Elemental series has earned its right to profitablility, FE making it more deservingly so. <
My guess is the number of folks who purchased the game post-release but in 2010 is way more than the number who pre-ordered the game. Brad is probably worried about his server load when opening up the beta to that many people at once. I, too, hope the wait isn't terribly long, but can understand if he needs to stagger the remaining beta releases a bit to avoid a huge meltdown.
I wonder this as well. I can understand if
It was a grand launch from this side of things. I don't have the game yet, but was able to watch hours of livestreamed play. Even through proxy, the fun factor was felt. It seems the game has been improved from every angle. Everything from interesting terrain and cool magic effects, to greater diversity of gear and more sensible creature loot, up to faction differentiation and improved character development. And more. After WOM, It is hard to think of this as a beta at times. It
Is it indication of the improved AI, that Markinn was able to reach the Tower; and have the desire to adventure there in the first place? Another thought, it seems very early in the game for someone to be able to achieve such a feat. From what I gather from the screenshots, the factions have only had time to settle their capital cities. With little time to build up an adventuring force, or adequately equip professional adventurers for a quest of this apparent magnitude. Did he s
So has anyone had a flare up of One More Turn Syndrome while playing FE?
Oops disregard.
For those who missed the livestream: you can still watch the archived videos here... http://www.livestream.com/spleendamage
Thanks Zozz! That was great. You were brave to livestream your first games, and kind to share the experience with us. From watching all that crash free, smooth running, interesting gameplay... it seems that Elemental: Fallen Enchantress is off to a great start. It seemed like every five minutes I was saying in chat "I like how...", "It's cool that...", etc. And this isn't even the release version.
Zozz is live again! This time in HD!! (just adjust the quality settings at the bottom of the screen) http://www.livestream.com/spleendamage
Join the party! Zozz is livestreaming the game right now! http://www.livestream.com/spleendamage
I'm there Zozz.
egads! Will you guys let somebody win already ;~p
Holy Hit Points Batman!! Lord Markinns got over 3k
That was fast!
I hope Tarth is one who can be Kingdom or Empire. I wish they all were. Please allow the player full freedom to craft their own story to explain a custom factions philosophical leanings towards Empire or Kingdom.
I've got the early signs of enviitis. Likely contracted due to hanging out in threads frequented by people who have been exposed to FE beta.
Those who are in the first beta wave, please feel free to post screenshots here *hint hint* [e digicons];)[/e]
OK, I've decided to test the Kingdom of Altar and Lord Relias first! What about you other guys here? 82% downloaded by the way!
I'll be playing Tarth first! With a chaotic neutral approach. Then second playthrough I'll play them as a custom Empire faction. With the flavor of a brigand gang.
Dang but I want in! Turned to dust and lost to oblivion, have gone my thoughts of patiently awaiting till next thursday. :~p
I hope we can build roads to Outposts. Their function as troop garrison would be limited if not. Would be nice to station troops in an outpost which is positioned such, that units can readily deploy to nearby cities. Not be tangled up in forest undergrowth etc. Is natural for there to be roads to Outposts. Would be odd to not have them. Actually, I'd really like the ability to design our own road systems. WOMs caravan routes take the looooong way around sometimes.
Thats true. Item #5 has language relating to tactical battles. We'll soon see :~)
I'm very curious to find out what the subtle area of control is all about.
Me to. I'm wondering if it means that moving past a hostile group, may result in auto-combat. In WOM we could move past a group, and so long as movement ended outside their range of movement, we were free from attack the following turn. It may be that in FE, an AI group can make an attack on a players turn... if the players group should pass adjacent to it. If
Not sure why you would even try to play this game.
Every day for the last couple weeks, I have been playing E:WOM v1.4 with Heavenfalls: After the War, Expanded Factions, and Artifacts mods. I'm playing it cuz I'm enjoying it!
Lots of good news in the OP. More than I'm willing to comment on atm. I'm digging the Outposts alot! I'm not really a 4X city spammer, I just like establishing zones of control around my core. Building forts on the frontier, and establishing bases in strategic locations for which to garrison troops. And of course I like to nab nearby resources. It seems that the Outpost is a good solution to the so called "city spam" problem. I hope that once agai
Are we there yet!? Huh? Aren't we there yet? It's just around the corner son. That's what you always say I should be getting access next week. As it was with E:WOM, I'll be anxiously following the write-ups, commentary, and videos of those who are already in. I have fond memories of following along with E:WOMs beta. Watching all the vids from Gorstagg and Draginol that I could find.
