Hmm wow cant really respond to all of this properly, i deleted what i was going to type like5 times. So in a nut shell. Complexity within the system works fine and is great when it comes to strategy as long as it doesnt tax the player with tons of information. Love to see champions have more of an RPG feel to them. Thankfully traits will be in Beta 3. Please stop comparing reality with a fantasy turn based video game. Not always the best route. And D&D does

I enjoyed happiness meters. Like it in total war and liked it in MoM. Really got to try Civ game for once. Basically build churches, good defense building, stationed soldiers, and entertainment to make everyone feel loyal/protective/happy/whatever And when you do you can raise taxes without them causing a revolt. get more money that way. Or you can risk raising taxes just for a few turns before they get angry and turn around and destroy a building or two. Whats

just seeing a slightly appealing game for under $10 makes me want to buy it and try it out. And im a bargain shopper. If i want a 360 or PS3 game, i wait and i buy it used. Just bought Assassins Creed 2 for $20 on amazon. Plan to get Uncharted 2 when it reaches $20. Problem with buying used games, is that the devs or publishers dont see anymore money. But having a sale on Steam/Impulse for a 2 month old game for $30 means the pub/dev will see at least a few bucks, and get more

The THQ pack for $50 is an amazing price. All Company of Heroes games (best RTS ever) All Dawn of War games (thats like 4 expansions), and Dawn of WAr 2 games (which are new), and i think a few others. And Gothic 2 and 3 is like $5. So i guess going digital is good, since if you sold a physical game for $5 your basically covering the cost it takes to create, package, ship, and store. While selling a digital copy even for $3 can bring in a profit of some

I know Steam is kind of an enemy around here. But there are sales of games like up to 90%, till July 4th. be surprised what you can get for like $5. Impulse i want new games under $15 too.
Enchantment slots, Champion ability trees, Equipping UIs, etc YES!!! I'm starting to wonder... how long did "building the engine" take, and how long does "making the game" take? I know you said something about the engine taking a lot of time to build, but I didn't expect it was spread out THAT way.
didnt expect such a quick response to this request. Really this was a big deal for me, glad to

Problem i see with having a hard final "we are done changing things" date, is playing the beta there needs to be more than changes with just polishing the game. Ill be surprised when you release the tactical combat in beta 3a if people will be like "ok this is 100% awesome and fun". Pretty sure people will provide great feedback to make the combat better, and yes i know you cant do everything. But sometimes you get that one comment that will make things way better and only take a few days to

MoM system did ALOT of things right. The magic system which governed mana in research, power, and gathering (?) was very easy to use. Only thing missing would of been a screen showing which spells you currently have cast and how much mana its costing you. It wont be bothering the player at all Upkeep is easy to manage if you guys wish to have it.

oh man theres a 3 and thennnn 3A? Having most of us played MoM we can agree that the magic system was genius. But i dont think there was a display active spell page. That would solve everything. So controlling upkeep for summons shouldnt be annoying at all, and MoM in addition had research mana and power.
Quoting SavageBananaMan34, reply 11i don't like that idea so much. At least, not all monsters should attack settlements. Barbarians/orc hordes or whatever should definitely show up later in the game, but it would be really frustrating if that sand golem a a few ticks away from my town prevented me from doing anything for a good 20 turns (I mean it's bad enough he kills my sovereign every time I try to sneak past). It shouldn't be to
Well, decided against the Witcher. Played the Demo for about 2 hours last night (nice long demo by the way) and I just don't like the combat mechanics, it drives me nuts. Reminds me a bit of console type fighting where you have to time your clicks just right to get fight combo's and stuff. Just don't like it. I don't think I could do 80+ hours of that. I'll download the Gothic demo's and see if they are any better

thanks for putting that up. I mean the original "buggy" version everyone is complaining about is like what? 4 months old? more? Im sure the US version will be more stable. Im not a fan of HOMM or KB combat. Looks great, but BORINGGGG after the first 50 times. For some reason i enjoyed MoM combat, which i think is only a small difference. Hope Elementals combat is better than both.

I liked the idea TW had. Have warriors stationed to avoid riots. ANd im kind of for have a happy gauge. Churches and entertainment to stop rebellions and avoid destruction of your own town I wouldnt mind a few Independent cities to take over as well. MoM had rebel cities and random monsters attacking in small groups to keep you on your toes. I enjoyed taking over cities without making a big deal taking on other wizards.

Played Gothic 2 for a few hours and was impressed, then played Gothic 3 demo. Didnt like Gothic 3. Ran smooth but didnt like it compared to Oblivion. Played Risen demo and i like that one. Buts its still like $40.

In it's time the Ai was damned impressive. Compared to what we can do now? Not so much. yeah... if micropose only released their code, then there was probably allready a graphical update by now...but for me the level of detail that mom presents is still amazing - all these different rules they

I like the tried and true methods of MoM or even HOMM. THey all have skills and traits. Champions should have not only attributes but also leadership skills, resources skills, attack skills, magic skills, etc. But not all these skills should be available to all champions. Champions should have their own skills to choose from or are already selected for you. This makes characters in the game very recognizable just by name and makes each character more distinguished. An

im a fan of having easy to do or share mods. Not sure why other games dont have a network or ease of use. I mean its 2010. So thanks guys. Hopefully map in map and dice rolling will be available or modded into the game somehow for tabletop or adventure games.

after seeing the 40k online trailer. I might get into it. Also want to try Dawn of War 2 since i LOVEDDDDDDDD Company of Heroes online mode. Just not a fan of the constant wars in lore.. Never understood how barbaric self genocidal barbarians (orcs/chaos) like in both warhammer series can actually have offspring, laws, education, technology, or even military discipline. Did like some of the psychic references i heard of in 40k series.

adding or combining the basis of these ideas of adding unique characteristics to individual champions, shouldnt be taxing for devs to add into the game, and having played other strategy games where people level up skills, i didnt find it be taking up alot of my time at all. If u can find time to add a stat point to a hero (already in the game), shouldnt be that hard to select a trait as well.

I do appreciate the thought and hard work of the lore and even adding the book. But will players notice and appreciate the lore? Really that depends on how the game plays out. Adding a engaging story and putting faces and characteristics to your units is how its supposed to be. I dont see this game PROJECTING the lore, unless you guys plan to do lots of work compared to current beta. And the book... i mean the main point behind this game is open ended sandbox of maps/levels and moddin
