stupid spam RTS anyways. Did him a favor in the end.

Good to see you are keeping us informed and there is a fast turn around on our comments. Interested to see how the new town idea turns out. People lets not knock it till we try it, then we can post our thoughts. Maybe the old system will be better i dont know. BUt i guess that means all cities will now provide the same thing? Instead of being built with specialties in mind? Or is everything just in a smaller scale and not cluttered with 10 of one building?
I want to bump this b/c i feel that there is a huge RPG element missing.Granted it being a beta, but I would like to hear more responses about what they think. Not just about the Inns anymore. But about what is written below
Quoting lswallie, reply 2Or instead of half a dozen inns there are a band of nomads settled around some wagons. And they need water or food, or there are wolves attacking them at night, or there are b
I agree with with this post. I also think questing in general should fit the more typical RPG feel. Inns should offer multiple activities as listed above. Feels the RPG feeling of the game is just an afterthought. Also feel some quests SHOULDNT show you the way to go. Yes escort should, but one time i got this quest where i had to find a dragon shrine.... i found one before in another game that did nothing, so i was eager to to go searching for one again. But it showed up in yellow on
Well there is even 2 more schools of thought when coming to MORE COMPLICATED. 1. More complicated as in adding more micromanagement and things to do. 2. More complicated as in add more strategy. Right now the game needs #2 for sure. I feel im not getting much from city building. Seems boring. as far as #1, i wouldnt mind a happiness/loyalty meter to keep people from rioting and destroying stuff
Quoting Nathikal, reply 14 Research needs - NEEDS - to tell us what each tech leads to, if only the next level up. Else, it'll be nigh impossible for new players to play the game, not to mention it'll give a massive benefit to people who have memorized/jotted down the table's contents. I gotta second this, as sometimes I am just wondering "where is that stinking tech"
<
I think the problem we're seeing is that technology works for immersion but fails as a gameplay mechanic. We've already seen plenty of people say that they're keeping track of what technology leads to what outside of the game. That, to me, says that there's a need the game isn't providing. Later, LAR
just about to post the same thing. As im all about having some sort of vagu
ya i briefly talked about this in https://forums.elementalgame.com/384060/#2649590 basically after playing Fantasy Wars i really got into the feeling that controlling hills and having people in forest areas is a huge benefit. And tress protect from arrows and hinder cavalry. Terrain affects not only battles but also movement for different units. But we should lay off this and see what the strategic battle does. Im not going to complain until i see that they didnt
Ya im not feeling the building town thing. Buildings are cluttered and i cant tell where one stops and where one begins. And highlighting a box is still buggy, so i dont know what i just build does. Overall not please with the city building. But the problem might be is that its based on tiles. So placing a building that is a whole tile next to another one means clutter. So adding roads or distinction between them might be tricky. Merging could help
Bear in mind that this is the beta. They've mentioned in the update schedule that some things, like art assets, aren't going into the game until release, and they aren't done sticking everything into the game yet. Some techs, for example, have no effect right now (I'm looking at you, katanas), and the tactical battle system isn't in the game yet, and neither are spells. Just give it some time.

There definitely ought to be more information available. Showing the entire tech tree might not be necessary, but at the very least you should be able to get detailed descriptions of the buildings/items/abilities that a tech unlocks when you pick a breakthrough. You can’t really make informed decisions right now. Let’s say for instance that the “Higher Education” breakthrough shows up for you as an option. The desc
im just hoping for terrain bonuses or negative effects. Trees block arrows or hinder cavalry movement. etc
i only made this mistake once. First time playing. But i do think its bad gaming Etiquette. right click on a neutral person automatically attacks them and doesnt intereact? hmmm
SO played 2 tiny maps for about 6 hours. Man those tiny maps are HUGE. Might not be fun at all to play HUGE maps. Anyways, i didnt experience too much strategy in this game. 1. Terrain on a tile doesn't have any effect on movement across it or defense bonus. 2. If you have units in a town Anything to increase the defense of the soldier or have artillery support for attacking. Any benefits for defending a town? 3. Tech research gave me no idea wha
IF the campaign doesnt have this thats fine. But if im playing a mod based on D&D or adventuring quest..... ya we NEED this. Put it in modding tools
Wow this is a very good topic. Its true if you manage to survive late in the game in many strategy games, you usually just dominate without trying. And since these maps are HUGEEEE hate to be doing this for many hours. I guess you can blame the AI. has mentioned total war had this problem yes. But they also had a great solution. Being invaded early in the game all the time kept your resources low and caused you to team up with other super powers. Unfortunately
Not really a bug, but confusing. The save the knight quest comes to your town, tells you to go to a cave to save a knight. THe cave is highlighted so i go to save him there. Do the quest. Now it says bring him back to your town. Well what they mean is take him back to your town that got the quest. Well since i have 4 towns i have no idea where to take him. So... a name or highlighted town would help.
In fact, I'd dig it if, while researching magic (or some such thing), something goes terribly wrong (as research does) and I hit a dead end and lose the points I spent or I get the tech but the inventor dies in a related explosion. Sword of the Stars had an implementation for this if you were "hurrying" technology. Not such a problem if you were researching something relatively benign like lasers. A huge problem if you were re
at first i was WTF. Then i remember oh ya its over a gig for some reason. yes i did hit the f3 button. It was AWESOME
maybe not that there isnt enough or too many. But more like it needs a new layout. Things start off slow, which is fine. But once i stayed focused on schools and education, i was getting new technology every few turns, and i had no idea what they did. I think a tech tree layout can help players organize pathways and keep things more organized, i was just random building since i didnt know what did what. Plus add some hints what they do. This builds marketplace. We
ya kind of hard to remeber that left click means talk. Right click means instant battle.
overall im happy with the graphics. Turn the soft lighting down to 25% or 0% and everything looks more clear and colorful. Vegetation is at 10xs. And i think it barely passes. Faces ya need improvements.
lol about to post after looking at forums as well. Windows 7 64 HD5570
Click Pg Down button with no town, caused my main hero to move down and right automatically.
Quoting strager, reply 110I confirm that Beta 2 is now available for existing Beta 1ers.... If you are Beta 2 hang in there- it was a few hours after Beta 1Z came out that most people got their emails. Thank You for letting us know
ya thats what i was guessing. Guess Beta 1 testers forgot we still need a Serial Number in the email to get Beta2 if we are new. still wait
