Quoting KingHobbit, reply 272Hobbit, go read the Dev Journals I quoted from in the OP. Go read where the LEAD DESINGER talked about havoing Thousands of Men in the world HE CREATED, and then come back and tell us how it doesn't fit in the game HE designed.
The game concept good have easily changed over time. I was not in the Beta, and clearly have not followed the game as long as you have, so I do not know the answer t
To use your same logic, how does it not? To answer your question, Raven has already explained much of this. I don't need to repeat everything he has said. It's what this entire thread is about.
It also take away from the concept of the game. A small Kingdom struggling to rebuild itself after a world altering event isn't going to instantly become some Roman Empire with 1000 of troops on hand. In the context of the game mechanics, an army that siz
All Raven is asking for is what the box advertises. Epic battles and epic looking battles. Big rigs can handle all the animations. Little rigs can toggle them off. Simple solution. Amazing that so many people are flaming the game for feeling so unpolished and incomplete, and when a suggestion is offered that goes a long way to adding to that polish, so many people just want to flame that, too. &nb
Haha. It might be fun to start a game with the slider at "at every corner" just to see how different it played out. I can already guess how "good luck" would play.
Just because the way I am, the first games I would play would be "good luck" and "barren"

I like that no one should have magic except the sovereigns. If a couple things have a talent than I would be okay with that.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 4I like some of the ideas here. Resource density adjustment could save us a lot of restarts.
I like the resource density to be limited. It adds to the feel of the game of rebuilding the world. I would be for a slider on starting a game to adjust the amount. go from: Good Luck ----------- Barren ---------- Normal ---------- Will find Some ------------ At
Have a bigger penalty for a sovereign dying (they should be much harder to kill) like in MOM where they have to cast a spell to come back or have the people perform rituals to bring the ruler back. (should only happen a few times before he permanently dies)
I think the game should be over. But I also think they should be much harder to kill. More magic, and more powerful magic should be first.

I want to expand on a comment I made earlier. How are you planning on paying for these 1000s of troops. Frankly, I have to disband some of my troops as is because the economy I have going will not support that big of an army. In order to get that many troops you will have to revamp the economic system of the game drastically. If you do that, than I think you are changing the direction of the entire concept of the game. Rebuilding a civilization i
i feel compelled to warn, this places resources ANYWHERE in your Zone of control, this includes, stupidly, on the far, far fringes of a city at the border with a rival nation, so that in some circumstances, you are guarenteed to loose that resource when the rival increases his influence. i have already been forced once to go to war to reclaim a spawned resource because while in my zone of control, it was so ridiculously on the fringes, tha

Good grief, it is the title of a post on a gaming forum. As an individual I understand that RavenX is simply making a point. In addition, he clearly has a number of people that agree with him. Now that I have said that, let me give you my two cents. Raven, I agree but have a catch. See if you agree with this. I want the magic to be epic first. I want battle, city, and world enchantments. I want a game changing spell, and an equally powerf

Kalin---thanks that is what I thought as well. Just seemed odd. Wayninja---The mana with nothing to spend it on was pecular to me as well. I thought there might be some kind of transfer mana ability. Your familiar sending some mana to you ever now and then would be cool.

I have a quick question about the summon spells for the kingdoms Familiar--the little red Fire Giant--the one with the three specials %@$@'s Promise--similar to the Fire Giant but has the awesome Rock Slide ability Ice Lord--no special abilities but great attack strength (should have some kind of special) Then there is the minor fire, air, water, earth elementals But I also researched something called the Lord of the Sea. But when I was pl

I would like to see the AI Sovereigns have a personality trait or characteristic, there was another thread about this somewhere. A couple of them that I mentioned in that thread were: Maniacal--doesn't matter what is going on, they hate everybody and will attack everyone Aggressive--feel the constant need to expand their territory Passive--feel taking care of their kingdom is most important You could even break down personalities by what they research the

The Lost Bounty This breakthrough reveals new Food Resources in the world. Any passerby might stumble upon the more obvious sources of fertile soils, but adventurers regularly tell stories regarding isolated paradises in the wild rife with food. When you finally achieve it, usually some kind of food resource appears in your ZOC. However, if I create a city after I achieve "The Lost Bounty" does that one get an extra food s

I'll take that bet Lantros---I will go with option 1 Frogboy, we will need confirmation to determine the winner. Any other takers.

I don't mind the randomization with the normal troops. Perhaps as they get more expreienced let them have minimum damage. I think the heroes need more depth, more combat skills , and then have them do minimums. After getting to decent level, I quite using the heroes and don't try to add anymore. The trade off, I think they have to have a upkeep cost. Magic suggestions, h ow about some ench

Thanks Rune and Gaelic--I was just trying to find a fun way to say taking over cities is awkward. If I am a Kingdom can I use Empire structures? Also, I would like an "advisor" to say we discovered this and now you can build "X" Jandurin--Procipinee had an indiscretion on was of her quests. The result was Tanis. I also wanted the devs to know I had a blast last weekend.

My last game I had a surplus of some 200 horses. I had every trooper on a horse.

I think I read somewhere on the forums that us as players will eventually lose troops if we go into the red. We definitely cannot make any more troops. It seems the bug was fixed for players but not the AI . They go red, way red in some cases. I like to think of it as the evil Fallen driving their citizens into conscription.
If you aren't within like 5 squares of a resource, it won't link to a city. If you're pulling in resources that are at the edge of your zone, build on them and check if they say "linked to [city]". If not, you can build toward it (from whatever city/settlement is closest) and when it's close enough it will automatically link.
I was saying the ZOC is pretty large. I am quite content at waiting for my ZOC to get there, if I don't think it

The random names don't really bother me. I do find a couple of them completely unpronounceable (if thats a word). Kind of a small thing, but I would like the name of the world to default to Elemental and let me change it if I like.
