Having a city built every 5 squares is the next major issue that should be addressed. Not only does it suck the fun out of the game, it doesn't fit with the game concept. I would like to see it cost 3 (or so) food to start a new settlement. This would make cities be placed for more strategically and not just have one every 5 paces.

I like the spells divided by Element. I think it should go a step further and let you customize even further by element. Similar to MoM. You could select all your points in Chaos and be awesome at that one discipline, with several extra benefits by specializing (harder to dispel, faster research, etc.). Also in MoM, just because you selected Chaos does not mean you were going to start next to a Chaos Node. The random is what makes it fun. I actually think t

I n ever quite understand the comment that a person is buying one game over the other. If you like strategy games you can own more than one at a time.

Doubt it would be put in the core game though.
I know, the Kraxis just don't feel right being a completely "Fallen" Empire. A little mix for them seems more fitting.
agreed
I would be for a completely different tree. I think they are a unique faction, not Fallen and not a Kingdom. Balancing notion is irrelevant to me. I think too much emphasis is put on that anyway.
FORGET BALANCE! It's Highly Overated! Allow the players to choose the factors they want in their games with pre-game slide bars: Lots of resources or few, cheap mana spells or expensive, lots of minor kingdoms or not, massive numbers of NPC badguys or few... Use slidebars to allow each player to get the maximum style of game they like. This will help make the game more fun all around.
I
I have to agree. I like looking around a bit for a good starting position and rarity of resources. I am still for some type of slider to make the resources even harder to find.
Does anyone know if this was addressed in any of the new patches or if Stardock was aware of the problem.
There is a limit to how may tiles a city can be built on. So if you march into a fully built city, you likely won't be able to build more than a couple extra buildings.
But you can have the effects from both Empire and Kingdom buildings. Seems weird somehow. Right now I usually keep the food resources and and get rid of the others. I have a suggestion or inquiry with the Kraxis. I didn't notice while playing against them, but I did when I played as the Kraxis. I think the Kraxis should a mixture of Kingdoms and Empire. I am not sure how to do this. Perhaps mix the tech research tree. My suggestion would be something like this. Civilization (Kingdom)----build the buildings and structures of the Kingdoms Conquest (Empire)----To exist with the other Fallen races
Question for the community When playing and you take over a city from the opposing faction. Kingdom vs. Empire or Empire vs. Kingdom you get the city intact. Are you supposed to be able to build all of your stuff in the city as well. If so, aren't you creating a super city. If you take over a large city that has all the buildings of the Empire level 4 city, and then you build all of your Level 4 Kingdom buildings. Something just seems wrong
Great hotfix. I will say this. You absolutely have to leave some basic troops in your cities now.
I don't think I would be a fan of converting materials, gold, crystals and such. If you need one of them, forge a trade agreement and do it that way. I would be more in line with having caravans be able to select what kind of trade is going on with foreign cities. I send a caravan to city and give gold for metal. I send caravan b to a different city and get crystals for metal. Don't think I like the switching back and forth at will--even if there is a conversion
The idea being, you're "paying" for them to import the special elements needed to get it to you and they're adding 50% gold mark up (they're not part of your government, they're merchants).
I am a tyrant in my game, they will just give the weapon or I will kill them. Just kidding, thanks for all the hard work, the patches, and staying involved in the community.
I'll try, Pastebin kept telling me the files were to large. Since I restarted the game though the information is probably gone.

I noticed it as well. Was awesome until the Yithril starting using bows as well. Ouch.
If this helps, I loaded the game back up. The save is right before I got the goodie (midnight stone). Attacked the city, but it did not crash. I dont really remember if I did the same thing or not.
I crashed to Desk Top immediately after conquering a city. Hopefully I have used this filebin thing correctly. I attached my debug file above, and below is the last autosave prior to the crash. I am not sure if you can recreate it using my save, here is the last couple things I did. I defended my city (New Pariden) from a couple attacks. Then I got Procipinee, familiar, fire giant, 2 groups of archers, and I think 3 spearman (basic knights). I went to the c
Great Patch, thanks for all the hard work.
