The other suggestion might also be moddable, but probably more complicated. At any rate, I think you're right, it won't be very popular. [e digicons]XD[/e]
I know you lose mana (sometimes), but I would just like there to be a little more consequences to running around with your sovereign. A global punishment to all units would be interesting. I would like
Something else I noticed from your OP is that the two monsters you mentioned, the giant skeleton and Ungr, are random events. Your monster setting may be fine, just set your random events to a lower setting. i may be wrong, but I seem to recall those two events happening in a recent game of mine.
This may not be very popular, but when the sovereign is defeated in battle, I would like the down time to last a little bit longer. In addition, I also think it would be great that while a sovereign is unavailable, all of that kingdom's unit have some penalties in battle. Perhaps -20 to accuracy, minus -2 to attack, and -15 to dodge. Or even better, have the penalty based on the sovereign's level. Dodge -1.5*level, Attack -level/2, and Accuracy -2*level. <
I didn't get that far. The limited resources made it so I had no crystals. Too many needs and not enough resources to do pretty much anything. I got archers to late, and when Urxen joined the battle on Verga's side that was pretty much the end of Sanjo. It started bad, and got worse. I am trying again though.
Thanks for the input. Things are not going well, so far. I am pretty much backed into a corner by Verga. It was fun though. Pretty rough start with the settings. Going to have to try this one again.
Oh well, back to the game. I enjoy the challenge anyway. I just thought I was doing something wrong. I already have the settings on dense monsters, sparse magic, and sparse resources. This will just be one more thing I guess. Tough go for path of the mage.
Thanks Primal I am not really a modder. Maybe I will try to create a custom sovereign and race with similar characteristics. I am really surprised this was not considered when they made the character. That is such a major limitation, you almost cannot play Sanjo. Although, if Frogboy wants to make an easier fix, you could give Sanjo the corrupt shard spell.
I need a little help with Sanjo. I decided to give this sovereign a try, I decided to choose the path of the mage. However, once I found my first life/death shard, it would only become a life shard. Did I not do something right? If Sanjo uses death magic, and cannot take control of Death Shards, this seems to be a significant limitation, particularly if you choose the path of the mage. Any advice would be appreciated.
You can raze monster lairs before they are developed
The problem is that the Towers give you an advantage for conquest. There is a reason I can only build one; however, I still have amassed four of them now. I think the Towers are more of a World Wonder ideology than the Merchant Bazaar or Great Mill. The Towers are magical and could easily be explained why there is only one of the tem. The Great Mill, is just a big Mill--anybody could copy it. Don't get me wrong, I am fine with the Great Mill being a Wor
****update**** In my final push to defeat the Kraxis, I came across another city that has a Tower of the Witch. I do not know if the Kraxis built another one, or this they took this one over previously, but now I have four Towers of the Witch. Seems even more silly than before.
Some good ideas here to improve this victory condition. As it stands now, I just disable it as well as the quest victory. Domination is the only way.
I like your idea. finally started playing my game again. The Amarians vs the treacherous Kraxis is all that is left. Pretty even power ratings as well. Any way, I mentioned earlier I took over a Resoln city that had a Tower of the Witch in it, I had alr
It can be pretty random what the monsters do, what level are you playing? ***challenging****good lord, way to read. Challenging is suppose to be even. If you play lower than challenging than the monsters do not attack you as much. Challenging seems to be the break even point. As one of the people who thinks the monsters completely ignore the AI and seem to be an extra faction against the player, I am not sure. In the games I play, I s
I have been getting more crashes in 1.1. Not sure what happened, but I current game has crashed three times. I use it as a sign that I have been playing to long.
Who are you playing? If you are Tarth, or used a custom with certain scouts they will not get attacked by monsters. I typically play challenging and the shrills are one of the more common monsters that wander and attack, even troops.
I am afraid of Skynet. Please do not let computers learn at exponential rates.
I also think each of the Towers should be World Wonders, and you need to control the first three to start building the 4th. If you you lose control of one of the three, then construction is stopped. In addition, in the current game I built a Tower of the Witch, I think, and Resoln built one as well, I took over the city that had the her Tower of the Witch. So now I have two of them. That seems silly.
Are the effects of Hobble cumulative?
Think of "dodge" as invisibility or the ethereal nature of a wraith (ghost). Does that help? Almost all strategy games with ghosts make it very difficult to hit the ghost.
They are just called wraiths. Frogboy said that wraiths are equivalent to Dark Elves. Dodge is fine, but some type of magic or magic resistance makes more sense based on Frogboys description as Dark Elves. [quote who="jut
Quest and Spell of Making. The AI do not try and stop you. Conquest, they are actively trying to stop you. But these three they just let you run around and complete them. The Spell of Making, once you start building the towers, there should be a world notice, and you should have a pretty substantial drop in foreign relations. It should get worse with each one that is completed. By the time you start building the Forge, all remaining races shoul
which ever one of those only effects one unit. I think that is Chaos.
Honestly I always thought accuracy was slightly set too high (base accuracy). And I think this bonus doesn't fit the way I think Resoln or Wraith should feel or play like. Could have been cooler if Wraith's healed whenever a spell was cast in combat, or whenever they used an ability. I usually prefer unique and interesting abilities rather than raw numbers in a faction. Sincerely ~ Kongdej [/q
I am not that big of a proponent of "balance". You could change their skill to Pandemonium and see what you get.
