I think you guys do need to tackle the balance issues at some point. I'm hearing more criticism of the balance from friends/boards over criticism of what's under the hood.
I completely disagree. Balance is not necessary, in fact I think it ruins turn based strategy games.
I would love if we had the option of predefined starting locations for

This is how my main screen always looks. I have tried the in game resolution setting of "Desktop" and 1920x1080, I can never see the top and bottom of the screen. Unless this is how it is suppose to look. Top Elemental symbol is off screen and the bottom is cut off.
I use a 1920-1080 screen. Everything seems fine except the intial screen, the elemental symbols at the top and bottom are cut off. I will load a screen shot later.
I build it in my main Fortress where I build all my troops. I usually try to have a Governor there, and a sometimes another Champion. Particulary one that I find late in the game and they are way behind. I still think the Governor's office should let you assign one Champion to it that increases their exp 1 point per turn. But they have to be on the Path of the Governor.
The air shrill effect also happens on the wrong unit from time to time. The unpredictablility of electricity.
I think the militia should even change based on the type of town Fortress--should be using the best weapon and armor that has been researched. Town and conclave--should or could be one or two notches below.
This would be a nice feature. All heroes look the same in the end.
I think it seems odd to want the bonus of an item but not look like you are wearing it. Just don't put the helmet on. However, because all champions are all magic wielding masters of the sword they are all the same. I appreciate the customization but because all champions have access to magic and are master warriors they all ac
are you referring to some skills from the Path of the Defender. They add dodge, resistance etc. If the Champion does should those bonuses stop.
l'm with Tuidjy on this. Had no idea what a Brony was? Now I wish I didn't know. Although I am curious if Xia is, he does seem to really like ponies.
I could go either way on that. At least that is a skill the Great Wolf had to burn up a turn to use. So I am somewhat ok with that staying, as the howl has already got them riled up. It is the automatic bonuses that are already effective at the beginning of battle that should go away for sure though.
The loss of the Alpha in a wolf pack usually sends a pack into chaos.
it sure feels completely random.
The problme is with any dragon that sweeps
I am thinking the Great Wolf bonus. If you kill him the other wolves should lose their bonus.
The game I played with Karavox, went Path of Mage, found the cloak with all the star on it. 50% damage increase to all tactical spells and something else. Plus all the evokers, Blizzard and Fireball were just unbelievable. Flame Dart was a one shot kill every time. For Mage Sov, Path of the Mage is still the best choice.
Never, noticed. Checking tonight in my game. Even if it is just most of the time, it needs to be fixed.
Sorry I changed the theme of your thread. I really do like get a Path of the Warrior Sovereign that also has the option of choosing Path of the Defender or Assasin. They are just brutal. Level 3 shadow strike on top of adding the damage from level 3 Lethal is show stopper. Put them on a horse with the Sword of Wrath. It is just as bad to hit them as just stand there and get whooped. Although I am starting to like some of those hammers. There i
I absolutely agree with you on this one, but we are so in the minority it's not even funny. And now that this decision has been made, it is too late to change it. Seriously, there's at least 10 champions that are ridiculously more likely to make a better nation leader than any level 1 sovereign. Hell, when you have henchmen, your sovereign stops being the most valuable unit in your army. By level 20, henchmen start surpassin
I do not get the intended effect of this one. Relias is the one sovereign who does not need any champions. By doing this you are hurting all the AI, and leaving yourself unaffected.
I actually did not know I had done it. I wanted to play a quick game, so I set up a tiny map with one competitor--I think Verga is the one that showed up). I didn't realize until after I started I did not have any ch
I have won with Procipinee a few times on expert. She's indeed the hardest to play with, and her troops are bad. It's just that I do not particularly enjoy playing a side that's so obviously weaker than its neighbors. I may or may not be able to win with Procipinee on ridiculous, but if I do, I am pretty sure that I will not enjoy it.
I love playing with the weakest character, or at least the character t
First Settlement is a town unless I have both high materials and essence, than it is a Fortress. It seems the most common tiles are 4/2/2 or 4/2/1. If that is the best I can get for my starting location than it is a town. I have started thinking the 4/2/2 would be good conclave for a first city. Try to maximize my research.
I play backwards. I try to find the worst combination. Must be why I like playing as Procipinee. I used my first custom sovereign--Kul-al-Kulan and just used the Urxen--i would say that beast lord is probably the strongest strategy that I have used. I have not created a custom faction. Try using Procipinee, on sparse resources, sparse magic, and dense monsters. It is absolutely brutal. It is so hard to even get started
Don't worry that it is small. It is magical. +3 moves is quick. The quest is actually pretty funny as well.
Did you notice how small the thing is? It is funny, the champion looks huge on the little thing.
My pony's name is Xia.
I finally get what the OP is talking about. I started a game tonight with Kul-al-Kulan, the Umber race, and made him a beast lord. Holy crap is he powerful. My first army consisted of a Cave Bear, a Great Wolf, a Skath or some kind, and a Naja. I later added a Umberdroth and a Ravenous Harridan. There is really nothing that the other sovereigns can throw at me that can even deal with that mess. I really don't care if they change it, mostly becau
