Yes, I am a proud owner of the MoM strategy guide. Easily the best strategy guide ever. Sits on top of my DOS 486 for the next time I wish to have another go at MOM. Never had the patience to learn then cast the Spell of Mastery, which required another hundred turns or so after everything else was done. The scale of this game promises much, once they get stuff balanced better. I guess one of the problems people are having with Elemental is

I would rather have more magic, buildings, and tech than short cuts. The changes that I have heard about for 1.1 seem to address this.
personally I don't mind the randomness. Like Xia, I was playing on a pretty larege map and my Tarthian neighbors had a city with 4 gold mines in one city. I had 4 gold mines in my entire kingdom. Needless to say. That city was mine. As to your post. What would be the most fair is to allow the players to determine the number resources, including gold mines that are available in the world. By allowing us to customize the world we could choose many dif
I agree with the most common theme, wait for 1.1. Then we shall see.
1.1 is on its way. Welcome

And then we get the expansions, which is what this threat was all about.
Drat, I had Steve Barcia in the pool! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and all the great feedback (pro and con) here on the forum. I've been reading it all for the past few weeks and I'm excited
I would also like to see "heroes" gain experience over time.
It is playable and fun, but 1.1 is going to determine long term playability
I don't even think the original poster is still here.
Something definitely needs to be done. I had a game going as Kraxis, and the most powerful nation on the map, Gilder, declared war on me. A few turns later, the sovereign of Gilder, alone, marched up to my capital where nearly my entire army was garrisoned, presumably to settle the war in a duel or something, I dunno. So I sortied out and killed him easily, causing the entire kingdom of Gilder, it's cities, it's people, it's his
I've seen games with minimum and recommended.
I think it should be 'The most powerfull offspring', otherwise we would just not beef up the first in line..
That would be your choice. But I would want them to still lead my armies or guard a key city. Besides, you would have to not beef up any of your children. If you die and defeat your first born. You have just delayed the fight with the one you did beef up.
I am interested in seeing how 1.1 will address teleport. I really don't use it that much, but it made the quest victory very easy because all of the 5 "dungeons" were in my ZOC
I wouldn't mind some type of advantage. I am thinking back to the inspiration for Elemental. I would not want the kind of buff MoM gave the AI on Impossible. It was practically was. It made the game so placement became critical and you had to get lucky with some empty lairs. You couldn't struggle trhough some lean years and then over come. If it started bad, it got worse in a hurry. I would like to see sliders on the world in general resources, food
I would recommend some race specific units and buildings. Would also add a little more depth. Might have to check out AOW as well. Is it related to the Age of Empire series. I thought of another option if the enemy sovereign dies. If another kingdom/empire is allied with them, perhaps have them take it over if no rightful heir is available.

But, I'm just saying 90% of consumers are not "computer experts" they don't know that the first 100 sectors of RAM are taken up by the FAT (for example, or whatever the hell it is now, or even if windows uses a FAT anymore .. I don't even know) and that their "windows 7" OS with "Radeon ATI" takes up 20% of their base memory &

But still, if you only have the minimum reqs, its never going to play well, for a game to play well, it should play well on the recommended reqs. I haven't looked at the box, and rarely do, so I dont know what those numbers are.
Sorry for misunderstanding, my pr
I just checked the back of the box, it actually does say under system requirements: 1GB availabe RAM, so I wouldn't laugh too hard.
Correct and the OP does not have 1 gb of available RAM according to the post, unless they turned off their OS while playing. He also said the game is bad, and although I disagree, I found solidsmooky's comment funny,
Normally i'd agree with you because this is a bad game but the fact that you have 1 gig of ram and are complaining means i'm going to make fun of you instead.
lol--I shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help it [e digicons][/e] ***edit***although I do disagree with you about the game.
I thought I read it in a thread somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I figure with 1.1 and the expansions coming, would be good to talk about.
the point I was trying to make is that by adding a couple sliders, we could customize the world. It makes the game more interesting. Just with those two types of selection i suggested there would be 25 different combinations to choose from.
I would like to see a couple things happen when a sovereign dies. First lets look at when my sovereign or even an enemy sovereign loses a battle but escapes. I think there should be a certain amount of time before the sovereign could be used again. I would also like to see the first in line offspring possible try an take over the kingdom/empire. Come on, say it with me. Mage Battle. That would be cool. It shouldn't happen everytime, some sort o
They also added a feature to turn off outlining. That may also help. Meeting minimum specs on any game is going to have a pretty rough go if you crank up graphics. As far as the graphics, I rather enjoy them. I really wouldn't describe them as cartoonish, but more like a painting. It is refershing for a game to try something different. You might want to try 1.1 as well. There are several game changing features that are planned.
Sorry, I turned him off. Dhraconus--interesting, I have played a game where I wondered if I was going to meet anybody. That explains why. I like the randomness. Makes it more interesting.
My suggestion was to have a slider for both. For resources I want to be able to play several styles of games. I want to try a huge map that is set-up with hardly anything. I think in another thread a scale such as plentiful ------- adequate ----------- normal --------- barren --------- what the hell (where is everything) I would really enjoy struggling through the last selection. Likewise, I want to play plentiful once
