Well, its quite normal that your city got destroyed without any warning because there is currently NO WARNING for when your city is about to come under attack. Instead ... if you have units, a Tac Battle will randomly pop up ... and if u don't ur city will randomly be conquered/ destroyed. What happens to your Conquered City Personally I feel that If your city is taken over by Undead/ certain demons ... your city turns into a Necropolis<

Is Mount and Blade a Standalone demi-sequel to Mount and Blade ... or does it requires Mount and Blade also installed to play properly?
Yea, I rather like the Tactical Combat music.
In Suikoden a character was allowed up to 4 rings and up to 3 runes. The runes were Right Hand, Left Hand, and Forehead. the runes were a good deal more powerful than rings as well ...
Aye. I say separate it into Run Speed and Attack Speed (and keep those separate from Overland movement of course)
Heh ... well honestly if we are talking super long term here .... I'd love for units to be soldier-to-soldier flexible (separate objects), as well as the AI to be an actual ... personality that we can Order around, instead of having to move units individually. That way you can tell the AI of "your country" to do This and That, and That and This ... and they would fulfill your orders to the best of their ability ( the people of your country)
Meanwhile… The tactical team has been working on some of the cheese that slipped through (bows and spells being over-powered). I had one of my AI players train archers and it quickly walked over all the other AI players without a problem which demonstrated a real problem with how bows and spells were working. The beta community confirmed the problem as well and so that was something that got zapped today.
Well, that
how do you get to the Caravan Tech in Beta C? I haven't done that much Civ teching in a while, and I want to test roads.
heh, maybe flip it. An attack takes 2 combat points, and movement costs 1 combat point. Of course, having separate Run Speed and Attack speed is still preferred by far.
Aye .... there should probably be several type of Recurve Bows ... with Short Bow being the weakest and most basic recurve bow, and Composite Bow being in the middle, and then something else (Composite ++?) being an advanced recurve bow. Recurve bows should be usable by all types (including mounted soldiers) ... while Longbows should be limited to foot soldiers (until mounted units get Stirrups).
" B ) " causes a Sunglasses Smiley
hehe, rest at Inn (costs gold, refills HP and Mana) :p
Nah, no offense taken ... I just didn't want for my Spell Suggestions (which are more numerous, already in the Elemental specific forums, and include these) to get diluted by being mistaken for jokes. This was more so I could quickly reference my favorites while modding, and I didn't want to take up space on the dedicated forums .... its just that the thread they were in has hundreds of posts, and it would be otherwise hard to access at a later date.
yep. Yet they were easily killed by me. All of them. ah, one time I set it to autoresolve though and I died to a Sandcrawler Shaman, but thats cause the Shortbow bug isn't acounted for in Autoresolve I guess.
Heh ... it might be Irritating for you John, but its necessary with the current system. Honestly though, Attack Speed and Run Speed should be separate (and have nothing to do with Overland movement)
Kyrogre ... they could still release it in February ... and probably not have any more reprecussions then if they had made the same delay decision a month ago.
sigh ... it CAN get delayed if it needs to but there is no need. (AI is the only concern)
Part of the reason Rebels were so annoying was because your empire was so big. And there were 20 different countries to fight. In the (relatively smaller) maps of elemental, without rebels, bandits, and thieves ... you won't have anything to do. I agree that bandits and rebels shouldn't be a constant pain in the arse ... there should be bandit camps in the Swamps and forests ... where bandits, highwaymen, theives, and brigands are spawned. For the most p
Hehe yea ... I was talking about "in general" with front-loading. But its kind of impossible to "front load" in a 4X game where leveling is only one of the things you have to worry about. I'm sure with abilities and traits there will be many more options ... or I'll add em in myself! :p
REDICULOUS!!!!! I was just owning Rediculous Mode with 1 Shortbow equipped Sovereign. I was defeating monsters that had insane stats and/or insane HP. That sandcrawler shaman has over 150 defense? ha! To the Shortbow, all must bow. Anyways, by turn 140, when it ran out of memory, I had over 4000 gold (making 100 per turn), and over 2000 population. I had researched refined housing a couple times, and refined armor (+ attack
How did u get defeated in 15 minutes?
well ... monsters (could) still spawn in the uncivilized areas under your infuence, however Bandits, Thieves and Brigands could spawn within your influence more readily. Think of it that ... monsters are still spawning within ur borders, only more likely than not they are human opponents.
but crossed arms are so keeewel!! :p
I won Conquest with 300 points ... with all of 3 short bows under my command. That doesn't mean that I wasn't training new troops for a 20-30 troop total garrison, but I was only attacking with 3 units w/ Shortbows. and killed them all (about 100 enemies)
