Like ... if I had infinite power I would SO have done that (use Medieval Weapons in WWII)
Tasunke
I won't take part in this :p I will say though, that with the current mechanics, it doesn't make 100% of sense, but it still makes a lot of sense for Noobtrap avoidance and AI coding. That being said ... it can be VERY annoying when a 2nd city is blocked due to hard caps. (for instance, if your near 2 golds and want ur 2nd closer to that Lost Library just out of reach ... or vice versa)
yea, I have to split the stack in order to transfer equipment ... :(
Yea ... that seemed a bit odd. Acceptable ( I guess ) but kinda odd. I mean, bracers CAN BE USED as Shields ... but I wouldn't think the functionality to be mutually exclusive. (for the parry function, that is)
Yea, I'd prefer +1 (or 2) overland movement and +4 speed
I almost wonder if you should be able to Attack Forts under these rules ... Or rather, at least forts whose Influence borders did not connect with the "main" influence borders (was an isolated fort not connected with a city) That way, its just a military installation with no economic use ... perfect gray area imho
Yea ... It'd be nice to tell your soldiers to do X, Y, and Z ... and they actually "do" X, Y, and Z. I guess its possible with amazing Stardock AI ;) That would actually be totally amazing. The ability to actually order your units around rather than manually move them.
[quote who="Sir_Linque" reply="27" id="2687159"] Occasionally a new quest hut is spawned in place of the old one, to keep the world from being compeltely static. Inns prefer to be spawned along roads between cities, especially intersections. Witch huts prefer to be spawned in marshes or forests. Ruins prefer to be spawned in places far away from existing cities on plains. Wizard Towers prefer to be spawned in remote places, such as islands, mountain ranges
Well ... it may not seem simple or basic, but just 4 stats work for me (3 stats for non casters) Overland Movement Combat Speed Attack Speed Casting Speed .. default Overland Movement is 2 .. default Combat Speed is 2 default Attack Speed is 2 default Casting Speed is 1 (for someone average) .. no stat can go below 1. So really the combat stats are ( 1, 1, 0 ) +1 To get Casting Spee
Is that in the beta? [e digicons]o_O[/e] although yea, I liked the Sloth Demon in Dragon Age.
I like it. Of course, I don't think we should include any details like "If word reaches home" ... if you do it, they know it happened and who does it ... otherwise it wouldn't be fair to the AI (cause its something humans can see). So everything you do to their units affects diplomacy. But! If you just kill a random unit of theirs, little to no penalty (very small), if you kill a pioneer the penalty is a bit bigger. If you kill a Champion its sizable (depending on the
Horsearchers ..
Yea ... we should either be able to "SET" an army to a particular setup formation ... or be able to Setup a Formation before the Tactical battle starts.
ah, its with equipment or Armor. I know Kingdoms can make shields, not sure about Empires. I know Empires CANNOT build Archery Yards, so its impossible for Empires to train ranged units currently (thus making them much weaker :p) especially that one Fallen faction that supposedly can build Yithril bows ... which are Ironically MUCH WEAKER than Shortbows. Also, in Tactical combat ... If you ONLY have archer units and you ATTACKED then the two armies shoul
Yea ... the primal association with Post-Appocalyptic is that it isn't going to get better any time soon. Meanwhile, here its used as the setting/background for a 4x "Renaissance" period of civilization ... much like FFH2 Of course ... another thing to think about, is that the Cataclysm isn't just cosmetic but is VERY much a part of the lore, and the fact that you are probably going to have to deal with the sins of the past (pre-Cataclysm). So basically,
Which is then why the First idea made any sense to me in the first place. The idea is that you start off with few cities, and no need to worry about mainenance. Then, as your city # increases, maintenance becomes a real pain ... and you may have to build these *special palaces* to reduce maintenance if you want to build any more soldiers ... at the cost of Scientific Research (and I suppose Arcane Knowledge as well). I suppose it would make a lot more sense if there wa
Aye ... shortbows are far too powerful it seems. A "Champion Only" Recurved Bow of Awesome could be 15 attack, medium range, +1.5 attack speed meanwhile ... Bow -> 5 attack, medium range Composite Bow -> 7 attack, +1 attack speed, short range Long Bow -> 10 attack, long range Compound Bow-> 6 attack, +2 attack speed, medium range Yithril Bow -> 12 attack, +0.5 attack speed, very long range also, a "C
^_^ I like this idea of loading your Character onto another server! I could see myself DMing my own server with my own monsters and quests .... hehe
Lol ... this is turning into another "Mods I would LIKE to Play" thread ... ^_^
@ Malloreon ... overland map-speed has to do with things a Backpacker has to think of. Food Supply, Logistics, Morale. meanwhile combat speed deals with how fast you can run (marathon) ... while attack speed deals with how fast you can move (sprinting) For instance, fencers have to have a very fast attack speed, but not all of us can run very fast ... yet if one of us was a skilled backpacker his overland-map speed would be relatively high. Supply Routes
Well, Definitely Inns (or whatever Quest giving locations) should stick around ... as most Quest giving locations. While actual "questing" locations are free to pop-up and disappear. Although I would kinda like Persistent Dungeons that could be explored multiple times. My main problem with the build is that there is just not enough stuff to kill (or the stuff dies too easily) Therefore, simply give some monsters a LOT more HP, and let the Heroes have the
yea, the quest was really easy ... even if the fight vs the 100 combat rating Thieves is the hardest fight in the game ;) actually, I did the quest and DIDN'T get a Dragon. A huge bug perhaps ... but I could live with it cause I was already uber. Actually, that game the King and Queen were both badasses with over 50 attack and 60 HP, riding Wargs and taking names. The Queen only had about 2 combat speed, but the King had 5-6 combat speed </
And indeed, Sareln, your ideas are interesting. I only wish there was time to test them all xD (my 3 rough ideas, Larienna's 2 ideas, and your 1 idea) My first idea was basically to first assume that Cities WILL cost maintenance (and to state that they should), and then to have various ways that large empires can lessen their maintenance fees at a loss of research. 2nd Idea was to have "free cities" and "extra cities" and the more extra cities you had th
Well, I find it interesting that you couldn't simply disagree with the OP, but instead needed a "reason" to latch onto. And that reason was whatever "X" I inserted into Reply 3. Honestly, my initial reaction was simply ... there doesn't need to be a problem in order to suggest a new mechanic, after all ... some people prefer needing to land grab, and others don't. My "references to the past" in reply 7 were actually referring to reply 5. That being said,
