I'd rather that research didn't increase overland movement. Maybe one tech that increases movement by 1 ... but I see movement itself as being much more static than speed or finesse. As for Stirrups ... the best thing about stirrups is the ability to stand while riding a horse. This is best for using LongBows. I can see how it would be useful in a charge too though. I forgot to mention, I think Mounted units should be "immune" to c

Disclaimer: 3 types of speeds movement (over-land moves) speed (tactical battle moves) Finesse (faster attacks/ attacks per turn) where a unit has AP = Speed, and an attack costs AP/Finesse EDITED: Equipping a Horse Horse -> +1 movement, +2 speed (50 gold, 1 horse, +0.1 unit wages ) Saddle -> +1 movement, +1 speed (10 materials, 5 gold) requires Saddles Tech Stirrups->
YES!!! Perhaps not all Inns have to spawn on map generation ... but most I think, until borders start expanding and cities start leveling up (then Inns can sporadically spawn within Influence, with a certain 5-tile minimum distance between Inns) So ... while Quest "givers" could be repetitive, its not so bad if quest "destinations" still pop up out of thin air. For instance, having a hidden temple or dungeon pop up out of thin air makes a good bit of sense (secret entrance fou
Yes Gorstagg ... our thoughts are *almost* identical on this Overland movement (I called it movement) Tactical Movement (I called it speed) and Weapon Speed (I called it finesse)
Dude ... SOME units WILL fill the entire square :p .... not a single soldier though
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="18" id="2685610"] Quoting NullAshton, reply 17Here's one idea I had that would give more flexibility. Action points = Move Number of action points it takes to move one tactical tile = 1 Number of action points it takes to attack once/cast a spell once = Action Points/Combat Speed Number of action points it takes to counterattack = Half that to attack That way, combat spe
2 ways to take this ... both ways Combat Speed = Finesse First way, simply have movement (on strategic and on tactical) and finesse. This would be, like someone else has said, Movement = action points, and an Attack costs AP/Finesse, while moving 1 tile costs 1 AP. Alternatively ... you could have Movement (tiles per turn on strategic map), Speed (tiles per turn on Tactical battle), and Finesse (attacks per turn on tactical battle). In this case
Well ... I think goody huts should probably dissapear after they have been used ... unless the goody hut is a potential spawning site (and hasn't been fully explored yet) I am not against having certain dungeons that can be explored multiple times until someone finally kills the boss and escapes alive. (potential to escape alive without killing the boss, and potential to kill the boss and die) IF someone kills the boss and dies, someone else simply has to kill remaining enemie
Good prisoner ideas. And yes, I believe that in order to sound a successful retreat, organizing your units for retreat is key ... however I don't think the "retreating zone" needs to be a hard cap .. but rather that faster units can retreat from farther away, etc. And also of course bloodless retreats if no combat has been engaged for X turns, and enemy units are X tiles distant from each other.
I think at some point there should be the ability to "set your composition" before the battle commences. That way, there could even be a little composition strategy (like place your archers all on the right flank, where a large cliff is, so they can attack while no enemy can climb the cliff, but must move around)
[quote who="PyroMancer2k" reply="429" id="2685088"]Winner take All: I've had different issues this in games and I think it depends on how it's handled. For example in one game I didnt' like say you have 500 units vs 600 units and battles last 10 turns. After those 10 turns say the enemy killed 360 of your units and you killed 300 of theirs. Well then they are declared winner and your remaining units get wiped so they survive with 300 units and you lost 500 even though there was only 100 unit
Well, you can change the Title "Dark Side of the Moon" into "Darkness Eternal" and you can change the Title "Apocalypse Now" into "Armageddon" they are all serious suggestions Nirvana= realization that there is No Self Enlightenment= realization of the illusion of samsara and your connection with all life Third Eye= attune with the future, third eye of illumination and premonition
Drug War, Over? Yes, the Drug War is over, we have cut off their supply lines and all the Drugs have been killed. Well, at least their leaders, the remaining drugs have been enslaved ;)
Spells that were suggested. Don't worry, they probably won't be in at launch ;)

An Oak Spear?? 6 ATTACK? WHAT!!! did I miss some update where Oak Spears are now 6 attack?
K ... and I would get back on topic by supposing we might get an update around noon tomorrow?? Of course, if we get no official word by 3:00 PM Eastern this Saturday (14 hours from now) then its best to assume Monday.
The only two babble quotes that are sort of comprehendible. I mean, at first it was all babble and gibberish, then you actually "talked" a couple times. Now its kind of like psuedo-making sense

WINDMILLS off the coast is so much better than Oil Rigs ... Wouldn't you rather see a giant field of Windmills in the barely visible distance? Than have to rely on gasoline at all (visible or not)? If no ... then I guess you don't like Windmills (or windpower).
ok, here goes. On level up, you can buy an ability (depending on the level), and place 2 stat points into any of the following: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Constitution, Wisdom, and Charisma On level up, HP increases +1 for every 5 points of constitution On level up, Essence increases +1 for every 10 points of intelligence passive abilities ... Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma increase +1 for every 10 points of essence. pass
looks like its not tonight :(
wait ... youll vote for it IF the majority says yes? lol
Ah I see ... well since I don't really feel like taking advantage of the poor naval tactics of the AI, it sounds like a blast! ;)
