actually, from my experience (at this point) it seems to be to the glow to the sides/flanks of the map (for my team at least, the glow directly behind me was ineffective, hence this post). I haven't tried the glow to the "north" although my bet so far is that only "east/west" are effective retreating points.

Aye, I think Champs should have leadership skills ;) ... and where are the late-game abilities I've been hearing about/ wanting?? // ps. Being "Warlord" should also start you off with an extra leadership ability/skill, or something like that pss. All Sovereigns should get a sovereign only leadership ability that makes them a step ahead of Champions also ... Sovs n Champs should really be able to develop their class,

basically the Drake-Human hybrids were as gods. Fitting imho ;) they would usually have insane stats (a good chance of +100 in each stat, and around 2-10 combat speed) also, (and this is really cool) during tactical battles, the hybrids would gain 9 mana and 9 HP every turn.

[quote who="Raven X" reply="94" id="2714458"] Quoting kyogre12, reply 93 I'm sorry, but no. The list would quickly get out of control if I included the entire credits for each mod. I don't want to be a jerk, but large mods could easily have a lot of people involved. If you would like, you could whip up a little credits pic sort of thing that lists everyone's names, and I could link that instead of listing your name. Example "Created by: Team Dragonlance" Again, I'm sorry,

I highly propose most attacks/spells having a minimum damage (even if most of those minimums are 1 or 2) Therefore, honestly I think we should go back to the dicussion of having both an Attack vs Defense roll AND a damage roll. Edit: With the damage roll being crazy things like, (oh I don't know) 5-7 damage, or 12-20 damage, or 2-3 damage, or 1-5 damage, or 9-10 damage. You know, crazy stuff like that. ...

Yea, I prefer the way the monster spawn is currently handled. Its nice to see the occasional creature armies being formed (I suppose the leaders are creature-champions?) and btw, is there any significant difference between champions and "creature-champions"? Personally I'd rather just have each faction have X number of champions that only they can recruit (hostile to everyone else) and have the rest be split into Neutral (everyone can recruit) and with some cham

Even with double the defense rating they were consistently being hit for 10-12 damage. At best 6 levels of hp boosting might give you the a

The point is that a bunch of peasants with clubs, even if their are 100 of them, aren't going to one-shot something like a Shrill, Dragon, or Elemental Lord. Not unless they all have REALLY Big Hammers and get REALLY Lucky basically, you need good weapons to pierce good armor. Attack shouldn't stack. Nuff said.

The AI is definitely going to take some work. For starters, when the AI does have the drop on me, it seems to attack those units that can absorb the most damage without dying (usually my biggest unit). and, when it creates armorless swordsmen, my longbows laugh

Well, somehow by turn 70 Capitar (to my north) had 4!! cities. So I took them all (half were undefended) and then killed General Carrodus as he was returning. Apparantly all 4 were his only cities, and he left them all practically defenseless. I mean, I can see why someone would do that, in order to attack somewhere else ... but he didn't have to have FOUR cities, instead he could of focused on defending say two.

maybe the ones with the mana (and without the ability) are just casters (like the Imp). Granted, the Imp needs at least 8 or 10 intelligence :p

yep ... like being able to select all archers to attack a single unit, with maybe 2 or 3 clicks max. (if you already have all archers as ctrl 1, then just click 1 and then click attack on the enemy)

Anyways, Salrog the Dragon can eat away at the HP of any insane NPC that has uber defense. Honestly, only HP should stack imho (attacks should be separate, with maybe a +1 group bonus to attack) I mean, Attacks should be separate ... (and defense non-stacking ofc), yet maybe a +1 to attack (for each soldier) for being in a unit, and maybe have differnet formations (with various bonuses and some penalties) only accessible by larger units. dude ... I beat him with all single units :p (on auto-resolve) that said, I did have 4 armies of 1 soldier units, but still ... I wonder if I just overlooked it during campaign xD

6 Replies 6,955 Views

Well, youll need 2 - 3 dragons to kill this guy. Basically, 96 damage x 2 per turn (each) should take him out. The only problem is that youll probably have to kill him in the FIRST turn, or else his 99 combat speed will kill all ur dragons once his turn starts :( so yea, get 3 dragons, and douse him in fire. Oh. Also, have male children and marry them to Snathi's daughters ... those mothas are powerful ;) ... and they also regenerate 9 HP

[quote who="Archonsod" reply="38" id="2724617"]If you're doing separate attacks you could just apply a penalty to defence for each subsequent attack. Say - 10%, so against a party the first soldiers attack is rolling against the hero's full defence, and the final attack is at 70% of the heroes defence. A high level hero could probably still take on a party or small group without breaking a sweat, but when facing off against a virtual army some damage is going to get through.

Edit: SPOILERS!!: EDIT are you able to build larger units in the campaign? I don't remember getting any squad technology ... ah heck, I already beat the campaign using auto-resolve, but I wouldn't of actually been able to win (enemy Sov casting "Kill all ur doods" every 3 turns) -> specially when each unit has only 10-20 HP and the spell always deals 10 damage.

While I agree with all your suggestions, I don't need Tac battles to be quick. Just smoother. and yes, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 all make tactical battles smoother (especially 1 and 5)

8 Replies 7,623 Views

Actually, some kind of charge ability (for melee mounted), and increased Def/ HP for all mounted units sounds about right. at least an army's defense doesn't stack ... it was truly broken when defense stacked. ah, and for a Champion, just buy 20 defensive amulets or so and equip em on one Champion. Should up the survivability. Then add attack amulets and speed rings when possible. (I know, equipping more than possible game items is broken, but hey
