Yep ... art style is currently the BEST thing about the game. Seriously.

Tactical Battle (Combat Rolls, Damage, Tactical Spells, Group vs Champion, etc)
THANK YOU OH PLEASE GOD FIX THIS!!!! This is definitely one of my primary gripes (the big three) with the current battle system. 1. (what this thread is about) 2. attack/ defense stacking, (units acting like mutant amoebas) 3. lack of abilities (direct combat, leadership, regenerative, etc) obviously there are other complaints, like no soldier death/ reinforcement system (for large units), primitive unit placement, empty ba
I dunno, for me the way battles play out are like 200% of the game. Not rly "how" its done, but that it gives the player a sense of reason and accomplishment. A battle system that both makes sense and makes a player proud is a good thing imho. And, while I understand that its easier to do with pre-set units ... I just feel that battles are primitive. AKA not "simple in a good way" just "simple and random." I'd probably rate the battles a 4/10 at the highest, and
meh. Defense stacking and Attack Stacking still bother me. Anyone else feel like using first stacks of armorless archers, and later stacks of Well-Armored great-hammers, is just cheese? btw, anyone know if its possible to separate attack and damage just using XML?
Heh, I'd just like normalized damage ratings. I think you could do this with Attack vs Defense AND Damage vs Resistance that way, you can have crazy attack scores and normalized damage, or low attack scores and normalized damage. basically, damage can be something sane like 5-10, while you can still have an "attack" score of 0-20. also, some "or most" people could have a resistance score. Like, most people could have 0-2 resistance, and tru

lol .... it must be convenient (sometimes) for your wife to be a CS major.
lol, immunity to spells?
Well, I usually spread my research out quite a bit (other than like only 1 diplo tech for Caravans) ... and I usually have the strongest military UNLESS! I cannot find a gold mine.
Well, technically if you capture a Warg Kennel as a Kingdom you will still collect Warg resource, and be able to build Warg Mounts. You just can't build new Kennels (atop a Warg resource)
Everyone knows that The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are the more informative than the actual news networks!!! xD
I wonder if its true that more people heard about Elemental's launch than actually knew about elemental. If that was the case then (if fixed) this could have the net effect of increased sales. Only, however, once all the dust settles and the game reaches an improved state.
East/West glow has been proven correct retreating procedure by my own experience. The player cannot, however, retreat to the glow directly behind them ("south" of them). This doesn't stop the NPCs from retreating from any glow they please (most notably their south glow/your north glow- directly behind them) So yes, while you must retreat to only the SIDE of the map (with this being not at all intuitive) the AI can retreat anywhere they please. &n
... I'm pretty sure there is LAN support?
yea, there really wasn't any need to quote frogboy out of context. Improper quoting and spin is probably my biggest gripe with media in general. as for the rest of the review, it seemed fair enough (as I have stated before), but quoting like that is just a mite tad beyond irritating. I know if I was quoted like that ... well yea, I don't wish to be quoted out of context you see :) so I'll just leave it at that ;)
[quote who="k10w3" reply="223" id="2729464"] Quoting Jafo, reply 218 Sure....so Australia is clearly using a system that doesn't work.....always good to know that you're right and the Country's medical and traffic experts are wrong. Thanks for correcting reality. I didn't accuse Australia's medical and traffic experts of being wrong -- however the information they may be putting out to indicate that they are right may not necessarily be telling the whole picture.&nb
Yea, I agree with Wintersong's suggestion. Probably the most fair would be to have a male Janusk w/ female Sovereigns, and a female Jane w/ male sovereigns. I mean, the AI seem to largely have instantaneous spouses anyways, so its not rly cheating the AI.
Honestly I think it could have used a few weeks of "finished" beta testing. I'm not really sure what the real push for august was, I mean I respect the decision ... but how much could a February launch rly hurt the game? Anyways, just my 2 cents.
hehe yea ... stacking attack, and stacking defense ... is really broken imho. (Especially defense) and also, cause apparantly that *fix* stardock made about incorrect health maximums make it so that now a 12-soldier company reduced to 1 soldier still has the attack AND defense of 12 soldiers. That's just MORE broken than it was before. Don't get me wrong, the game is still addictive ... I just wish the tactical battles were more streamlined, made more sense, and
Ahem: Where is the equipment shield on the 1.05 patch? I can't find it now :/
Oddly I'm finding equipping weapons difficult with my new faction (not sure how, but there you have it) ... and I am thoroughly confused. I don't see the little shield icon for equipping like I normally would (on units that can equip, like champs). Anyone else having problems with this on the Day 0 patch?
Honestly I think that you should be able to upgrade Wisdom upon level up (and maybe have it affect both Spells/turn and mana regen) meanwhile, make spells much more reliable, and have Constitution, Wisdom, and Charisma all partially (1/5th?) feed into magic resistance. and as for leadership skills, maybe Charisma could effect leadership (certainly morale)
ah, speaking of attacking settlements ... bring back the Citi battles we were promised :) Certain magical spells can attack sections of wall (to destroy them) and (soldiers of) cities without walls have to just hide in their buildings :) for instance, buildings give high defense boost, minimal HP boost, and small attack boost Being on a wall gives you high defense boost, high attack boost, and medium HP boost. if the wall section you are on is da
