After the announcement X-com will be a bioshockesqe shooter, my expectations are somewhere in the Marianas trench.

Earlier today I would have 'meh'ed' at DD only for Europe but I just checked my bank statement and some bastard has been pilfering from my account; had to cancel my card and hope the bank will re-emburse me my money. Moral of story: check your account regularly.
What is diplomatic capital an abstraction of? Political clout/influence?
I always expect the woman to say at the end 'and it's called TOYS R US!' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5JKRdtALcc
Well a 'technology' itself is what? A few instruction scrolls and some relevent materials? Maybe some specialists on loan? Here's a few solutions- 1/ Have them as a physical unit like a caravan that has to move from the tech-holders' city to your Capital. This could leave them open to attack by neutrals and any enemies. If it befalls an 'accident' you/they get a large diplomatic penalty (or maybe they/you ask for their money back!). 2/ Have the trade not by a physical uni
Total war games are all well and good, but given that Med2:TW was released years ago I suspect the OP is playing one of the many modded versions. Vanilla Med had some appalling bugs (Enemies standing still whilst you killed them with arrows, Heavy cavalry charge not working, enemy units roaming your land with impunity, Enemy factions attacking for no reason etc etc) and isn't in any case a good comparison to elemental. As for pacing, there are options as in SoaSE for timescale and I dearly ho
Perhaps Kingdoms/Empires could have a 'dynamism' rating that increases in proportion to realm size. Huge realms become staid and slothful in charactor- plumbing, buying food rather than hunting it and indulging in the vices of civilization reduce technological research and increase expansion costs. 'Barbarians', being somewhat more hardy, could have small realms but have a high dynamism rating- fast production (but poor army sizes), high reproduction, low costs and fast research of select low
Hope SD put in a panning for gold mini-game where you sit for five hours and find fuck all.
First thing I'd do after an apocalypse is go get a drink.
The description is more or less correct, Longswords were generally two-handed and broadswords one-handed. In terms of medieval to later the game description isn't really inaccurate.
So we’re going to create a new option “World Difficulty”. If World Difficulty is normal or higher, then monsters and other such things will take out players if they can.
Excellent. More difficulty options the better. I loved it in FfH2 when AI players were beaten early on and I could laugh at them. I hope that the monsters and third-parties remain a consistant threat as they can be a serious impedimen
As long as they change the combat system I'd definately get it now. Dragon Age harped on about being 'dark fantasy' but it was dark in a way that a Christian school teacher would write i.e not very. Very overrated game IMO.
Visuals DO matter. Take it from me. My last girlfriend was a "locker" according to friends and me (translated from Swedish so I don't know if it makes sense to you).
I dated a Locker once. She was closed off and wouldn't let me in.
The original Civ:Colonization dealt with early indian attacks quite well, instead of 'game over' when they beat your unit the natives stole resources, burnt buildings and generally made a nuisance of themselves. In the early phase that could hamper one's efforts without meaning you have to go the military route fully so early on. Fall from Heaven 2 dealt with barbarians quite well, though I felt a more unified threat was needed. In my games Orthus the Barbarian King spawned, walked around, th
You rated Falkor higher than Draco? I mean, yeah, Dragonheart was a lame movie overall, but The Never-ending Story has my vote for being one of the worst movies that I have ever had the misfortune to see, and Falkor should loose some points just for being in it. Not to mention the fact that he doesn't even resemble a reptile in any way, and looks more like the result of some bizarre cross-breeding experiment between a dog, a Doctor Suess creature,
First off, I should make it clear I do not, nor ever have, condoned the sacrifice of virgins to appease malevolent Dragons, attempted to destroy an endangered species or urinated on the Welsh Flag. In the fantasy genre, the Dragon bestrides the world like a colossus for reasons as varied as the creatures themselves. Let’s take a look at a few from celluloid and software to see if we can draw any conclusions. Vermithrax Perjorative (Dragonslayer)</
This is not, to use Frogboy's term, fun. I want to be hurling fireballs almost from the beginning.
I really don't I have to say. I would prefer magic to be very limited in the beginning and fireballs to be mid-late game spells. Part of the fun for me is building up charactors to become the fireball-tossing sorcerers you really need to protect. Having them from the beginning would just make me throw them into combat w
Turn off write combining? that was always a problem for me. dunno how you do it on newer cards tho.
Sorry to intrude but can anyone in the beta confirm that the lizard creature is called a 'skath'? If so that's one I think I gave a name suggestion for a while back. It'd be friggin' awesome if that's the case.
I love the amphibious monsters. Specially the powerful Coastal Fish-eating monster (slath/skagg?) and the Swamp Drake (Slag).
I'm not in the beta what is the monster called out of interest?
I'd prefer weather effects giving some unpredictable spice to battles. Going into a fight knowing you'll win is as boring as hell.
This gibberish is very nasty, unprofessional and inappropriate thing to do. what am I suppose to do with that ?
Don't tempt him.
I'd be far more enthused had it not been developed by Obsidian, who have a tendency to live up to their mediocrity.
Art style is rather unique and certainly not the clunky garish cartoony stuff of HoMMV and warcraft III. God I hated that. If Elemental had that I'd go on a one-man jihad and fly a building into a plane or whatever.
August 24th? sooner than I thought for an initial release date. Thankfully I get out of prison on the 20th, so it's all good.
