[.082][Bug - Gameplay] uber monsters

For some reason in my current game the monsters that start in the game are vastly overpowered.   On mouse over their stats show the correct attack/defense/health and combat rating.  But when they attack me, or I attack them their attack score jumps up into the hundreds.

This happens with all the monsters, the computer AI units have the normal stats.

Sorry to intrude but can anyone in the beta confirm that the lizard creature is called a 'skath'? If so that's one I think I gave a name suggestion for a while back. It'd be friggin' awesome if that's the case.

The heart tells you how much damage a unit has taken during that battle.

The sword tells you how much damage the unit did during that battle.

Those skath leaders and similar monster types with combat ratings in the 80s and 100s are supposed to be high level boss monsters that are erroneously spawning with the level 1 monsters with 9-20 combat ratings. Keep in mind it's the normal skaths that have low stats, the skath leaders show ridiculous stats from the start. Don't attack the wrong one.

And yes at leeboy, the lizard things are called skaths.

Thanks for the clarification Mettra.

Yeah, the big gray skaths are beasts to take down.  So is it normal for a monster with a combat rating in the 80's-100's to take down an army with a combat rating in the 150s-200s?   I've faced them in the other games I've played, but for some reason they seem much stronger in this go-round.

yeah i notice that something is a little off with the combat ratings.  i have attacked a bone ogre with i think 150 combat rating, and my army with a 250 combat rating and i got decimated.  he still had 80 something hit points afterward(started with a hundred and something HP).

Ya I'm not sure how accurate that combat rating is. It's looking at multiple variables but not really how they effect the outcome. For example if you have 10 soldiers with 1 def and atk and 5 HP each, I believe it's going to have the same rating as a single unit with 50 HP and 10 def and atk. Yet each of those 10 units is only attacking with 1 atk and wont be doing any damage at all to a unit with 10 def while the 10 atk unit will be killing them in one hit. The rating might be the same, but the battle would be completely one sided.

I've watched AI nations spend hundreds of turns throwing their armies at a single one of these bosses only to bring it down to like 80/90 HP after all that time. I think these sort of creatures are supposed to be taken on with uber champions and sovereigns casting powerful spells.
