OK, got the OoM crash at turn 235 this time with the FoW left on.
Publius of NV
There are additional reports of this problem and more dumps in this thread.
More information. If I hit Ctl-U to reveal the whole (tiny) map on the first turn, then I can't go any further than somewhere around turn 35 or 40 before hitting this crash. If I leave the FOW on, then I can go a lot more turns - my current game is 209 turns but I've deliberately explored only a small part of the map to test this out.
Also sometimes when you place a building it will snap to over the city. This is VERY ANNOYING as it causing you to place the building in a different location then you picked. So you have to cancel the order and replace it. Happens to me all the time.
I found that so annoying in Beta 1 that I turned on "City building zoom mode" in the gameplay options. I like that much better, but of course YMMV.
Same thing happened to me.
I just saw the same thing. Was trying to escort a nobleman's son and got attacked by a troll. Lost and was transported back to my nearest city. Went back a little later and was attacked by an invisible troll.
Windowed mode works for me too - also Win7 64 bit, Intel Core i7, 8G RAM, dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870.
Hit it again on turn 35. Dump file is here.
I was hitting this regularly in the various Betas 1Zx, and hit it again in Beta 2 [.802] after what I think was about 40 turns. No debug.err. dxdiag is here. There was a dump file, and it is here.
When I right click on the public folder and go to Dropbox it only gives me the options of Browse on Dropbox website and View deleted files. How do I get the folder link?
I'm not entirely clear on what you're asking. What I meant was that you open the public folder, select a file in it, right click on that file, and then you'll have the option to copy the public link.
It's been reported in past betas, as in this thread , but I haven't seen it reported in Beta 1Z3. If you still have the debug.err or can recreate the problem and get a new one, you might want to post it as suggested in this thread.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend Wintersong's Elemental for Dummies post.
Please refer to this thread for what the developers would like to see in the way of debug information to help them diagnose the problem, particularly the memory dump.
Not that I've seen so far. But then I'm not familiar with the lore on the "fallen" that are in the game, and the option to play as them or against them has been turned off in Beta 1 for quite a while now. So it might be there, but not so far.
most unfortunate intersection of military power and fashion sense
I assume that's a poor attempt at a joke. Many otherwise sensible people found much to admire in fascism, including Charles Lindbergh, Joseph Kennedy Sr, and H. G. Wells. I don't think it was the fashion sense.
Karma karma karma karma, karma chameleon You come and go, you come and go Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream Red gold and green, red gold and green Karma here is worth about as much as that song, which I wish I'd never heard. The "you come and go" part is accurate, though, since the karma system is buggy.
Missile weapons have been missing in all previous betas, I think they're just slowly getting around to implementing them.
the fact that I hadn't even researched Adventuring yet
I've successfully completed the rats quest on 0.32 four times without researching Adventuring. So I doubt that's what is causing the problem.
Yet again. Debug Message: - Ending Turn 145 - Debug Message: Current Memory Usage: 1390493 KB debug.err is here. dump file is here.
My town was running along with 5 prestige, 1 base plus 2 from each of 2 town halls. I ignored it for a few turns and when I looked back it was down to 2 prestige. Does building a mine reduce prestige, or is this a bug? debug.err is here.

So I'm working on a custom sovereign, and have her looking pretty good: But when I try out some of the other animation packs, she's either crouched so that you can only see part of her head (Bandit animation pack): Or missing entirely (Slag Animation pack): <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5003976/2010-05
Do you have the debug.err file, the dump (if one was produced) and a dxdiag report? Please see this thread for what the developers would like to see in bug reports.
Unless you mean National Socialist...
Yes, I did mean National Socialist. It's still socialist. After all, Mussolini, who invented fascism, called it "the perfection of socialism". All this left-right business came about because of disputes in the Socialist Internationale between whether "international socialism" or "national socialism" was destined to defeat capitalism. Lenin and later Stalin placed themselves on the left, and the Fascists on th
In addition to the known problem with anti-aliasing, there's another known problem with advanced lighting. If you uncheck that, does it help?
