I lost the ebbenwolf battle also, and like you was transported back to my city. After a few turns of healing, I ventured out again and found the ebbenwolf wandering around, severely weakend by our previous battle. I attacked and this time won, and then was rewarded with the Tilda herb "found in the cave" that had disappeared.
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, I7 processor, 6 GB RAM
That's the same configuration I have (but with 8G RAM) with my out of memory crash.
I noticed that also.
Margaret Thatcher famously said that the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money. Greece is already past that, and is attempting to steal money from Germany. The UK is only a couple of years away from the same thing, and I don't have any confidence that Cameron will make any difference. Neither do any of my British friends. UK government spending is already more than 50% of GDP. Your soldiers can't afford to use real ammunition in
I still think there are some hidden geo features as there are blank spots on the map I can't get units to enter or cross.
I've seen the same thing. Are you reporting these problems in the Elemental Beta forum?
Someone in an earlier beta had reported that some buildings appeared offset from where they should be. Unfortunately I can't find that post. Anyway, after my huts had upgraded to houses and my studies had upgraded to libraries, I saw the same problem:
This is still a problem in Version 0.32, beta 1Z4.
In 1Z4, version 0.32, I got the housing tech and my huts leveled up to houses without disappearing. So this might be fixed in 0.32.
I formed an army from my sovereign, his daughter, his son, and two spearmen units. I then moved the army one tile. The sovereign figurine moved, and the graphics at the bottom of the screen showed all the units were still in the army, but the figurine for the son was left behind. Trying to select the son didn't work, and it disappeared on the next turn, so it's just a graphics glitch:
The quests can be completed and give rewards
All the quests that I was able to complete before crashing (out of memory, see my post in the Elemental Beta forum) worked, including the one with the rats, which was very buggy before. As one of the poster above mentioned, the quest to save the noble's daughter worked and I was able to marry her, and she's given birth to 4 children in 140 turns total. [e digicons][/e]
On turn 140 I got an out of memory: and: As has happened before, I found an unzipped dump file, which I zipped and is here. Debug.err is here. <
My sovereign had a daughter, so I decided to try to transfer a sword that he had found to her. I moved them both into an army, and then dragged the sword to her and equipped her with it. My sovereign's figurine then appeared to have a second sword sticking our of his back:
Same problem with the strange noises quest:
The text on this quest seems to be chopped off:
A found item message has "earn" when it should be "urn".
I got both an Impulse update and the new Elemental update with no problems.
This has been reported before in a couple of threads on this forum - this one , for example.
There's zips but none is dated today.
It's been my experience that you only get a dump on a CTD. Lockup/hangs and the Windows message box "Turn based fantasy strategy game has stopped working" don't generally produce a dump file.
I've had no problems with Dropbox, and find it easy to use. You install the software, give it a valid email address, and it creates a Dropbox folder on your desktop. Within that folder are a "Getting Started.rtf" file and a "Public" folder. Within the Public folder is a "How to use the Public folder.rtf". Any file that you drag and drop into the Dropbox folder, the Public folder, or any other folder that you create in the Dropbox folder is automatically replicated to
Nice work.
Desktop gadgets I get the message that it is not compatible. too bad.
Not sure which desktop gadgets you were using, but have you checked out the sidebar gadgets at wincustomize.com? I used a couple of DesktopX widgets under Vista to monitor CPU, memory, and network usage, but after moving to Windows 7 and finding out that Sidebar gadgets in 7 can be free floating (not tied to a sidebar) I found some gadgets that did the same function much better.
I've used Windows since the 3.1 days. I used XP for many years, on 3 different machine, 2 of which I built myself. XP was by far the best Windows version at that time. In 2007 I decided that some brands of laptops had gotten powerful enough to support my gaming habits, and sprang for one - Vista was the only option available, so I went for Vista Home Premium. It was a considerable pain getting my home network set up, turning off UAC, and setting up file and pri
Just edit it using notepad or any other plain text editor.
Aesir is correct. You can use any plain text editor to edit XML files. There are some editors like Notepad+ and XMLMind that are syntax-aware editors and can be easier to use if you need to code XML tags and are new to it, but for creating these characters it's not necessary.
Try going to the video options and turning off advanced lighting, and or anti-aliasing. If this fixes the problem, then the developers already know about it from earlier postings. If it doesn't fix the problem, then I think they'd be interested in seeing your debug.err file and a screen shot showing the problem. See this post for details on what the developers would like to see. You can take a screen shot b
