It's been reported that if you load a saved game the portraits of wolves, spiders, trolls, etc. are black. I haven't seen anyone report the same for alt-tab, though.
1) As your city gets larger, you can place some buildings away from your city. If I recall correctly from earlier betas, a level 2 town could place buildings up to 2 tiles away from the city, level 3 three tiles, etc. This works for farms, lumberyards, and mines, and maybe for other types of resource buildings (I haven't tried any others). So what you're seeing might be normal. 2) Is it really still full screen, or is it just that the window has the same resolution a
On most crashes the game will produce a dump file that the developers will be interested in seeing. Please see this post for information on where to find the dump file.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but should the Hedge Wall say that it provides anything?
I was performing some cleanup on a captured town, and after removing some gardens I tried to place a new farm. Crash, but this time it was "Turn based fantasy strategy game has stopped working" instead of straight to desktop. I did get a dump, though, which in previous betas didn't seem to get generated for that type of crash. Once again, though, it was a naked .dmp file with an accompanying 0 byte zip file. I zipped it myself before putting it on dropbox. <a h
Got another one, this time on turn 108. Once again, a dump file was produced but not placed in a .zip. debug.err is here. dump file is here.
I was a chess fanatic when I was in high school. Gathered a library of about 20 books on chess, joined the USCF, won a couple of high school tournaments in the Boston area. Hurried back from my summer job to watch Fischer-Spassky on the Boston PBS channel. Got my rating up to about 1620 or so. After college got a job, married, and haven't played a rated game since. Still a USCF member, though, and I do try to follow the news about major tournaments.
Like the rest of you, I've been seeing wave after wave of peasant armies, usually 2 but sometimes up to 6 peasants. The last game I just sat my sovereign near the troll cave and fought off the peasants, eventually getting my sovereign up to level 6 before I tired of it.
Yes, you're right. He does only have 5 dexterity, so that explains it. This is not a bug. Here he is from a bit later in the game after enduring a few battles:
Funny, when I tried it last night the quest huts didn't pop up until after I had researched both quests and one other tech (I think it was ruin delving). Then 2 or 3 appeared in range of my towns.
I'm not having as many crashes as some of the rest of you, but I am having some.
Cities don't de-level and have no penalty for dropping below population.
They're not supposed to, but aren't we talking about a bug? [e classic];)[/e]
It happened again. She was in a town, with stats 37/37, was attacked in the town by 2 peasants, and when I moved her out of the town here stats were 70/37. That lasted another turn, into the next combat, after which she was 48/37.
A couple of turns after the anomalies I noted in this post , I hit the turn button and got a CTD. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here. I had a dump file, but unfortunately somehow in moving it to my dropbox folder I lost it. [e digicons];P[/e] Boy am I embarrassed about that.
OK, that's interesting, one more turn and she's back down to 35/35.
In case it helps, here are: debug.err a saved game that might show the problem.
It stuck! I expect that on my next move it would drop back down to 35/35, but I attacked the spider next to her, lost 13 hit points, and she's now at 75/35: One difference is that the turn before, she had been in the town when it was attacked by a couple of enemy peasants. It was right after that that I moved her out of the town and saw the strange hitpoints.
I moved my sovereign out of a town by herself, and the display showed her health at 88/35. Her max hit points are 35 - I think that combined with the other units in the town (before she moved out) her army in the town might have been 88, but clearly that shouldn't have carried over when she moved out of the town.
After my sovereign had picked up a shield and sword that she didn't need, I decided to test out the new ability to pass items between sovereigns and heroes. I had hired Bannon Highsley, so I passed the items to him and equipped them. The sword increased his attack stats as expected, but the kite shield, which is supposed to add +1 defense, only added +0.5 defense:
Up until I got Win 7 I was FIRMLY planted in the Win XP court. I hated Vista like it was the plague and avoided it as such. Win 7 is amazing in comparison though.
Fully agree. Three years ago when my beloved desktop w/XP died and I decided to get a laptop, the only OS offered was Vista. I loved the laptop but hated Vista. Now I've got a new laptop with Windows 7, and it's so much easier to set up and use, and so much faster.
PyroMancer2k's total at Elemental looks correct now
You're right, I can see it at +3 now. Very strange.
