Another symptom - my town leveled up to 150 population and my 2 studies disappeared. Below 150, I had the 2 studies but the library did not appear on the build list. At 150, the studies disappeared and the libraries became available on the build list.

Did you see new quest huts popping up on the map? That's what the quest tech has done for me in previous betas, haven't had a chance to try it yet on .302.
Hit this again on turn 128 of a new game. The last line of the debug.err is "DebugMessage: Error allocating memory." debug.err is here. dxdiag is the same as in the OP. I checked the Elemental folder in the Program Data directory and found a .dmp file and a 0 byte .zip file that have the same timestamp as my crash. So maybe it managed to get the dump but was killed before it could
I never had my town halls disappear before.
If I remember correctly from the .302 change log, town halls were changed so that they required a certain size town before you could build them. If all your huts disappear, and the population drops to 20, maybe it has dropped below the level at which a town hall is allowed.
Last night PyroMancer2k was at +2 karma. I gave him +1, but this morning he's still at +2, when he should be at +3.
Same thing for black widows.
I had a picture for the troll, but after quitting Elemental, restarting, and loading the last autosave, I see the black infocard like you do. I wonder if this is a result of the changes made to the saved game format for this build?
On quitting Elemental, restarting and loading the last autosave, the mountains were again visible.
I also run mainly on Win7 64-bit, and in the last two builds (what limited time I have been testing) I haven't seen any crashes for my part.
Try casting a healing spell. That reliably crashes for me, and I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
In my latest game [.302] the mountains were visible until I put my sovereign in the southern outpost for a few turns and then moved her out. The instant I moved her out of the outpost the mountains disappeared.
You reported a similar problem in this thread. But there, at least for me, it was happening only when a town hit 500 population. Now in .302 it's gotten worse, as you say. My town just hit 150 population, all the huts disappeared, and the population is now 20. I had researched housing, so the huts should have upgraded to houses.
I hit this same problem, CTD on trying to use the mass heal spell. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here. dump file is here.
I love the quest cave on the island, talk about a challenge!
I've done one of those - you just have to learn the raise land spell and get an earth shard [e classic][/e]
I think this is fixed in version 0.302.
I note that there are temples that give +1 prestige to towns in beta 1Z3.
Got this out of memory box, followed by the "Turn based strategy game has stopped working". System is Windows 7 64 bit with 8G. dxdiag is here. debug.err is here.
I created a spearman, equipped with a spear and a shield. The pewter figure shows the shield, but not the spear:
While attempting to equip a custom sovereign, I noticed something odd:
Religion is too controversial IMO, there's a reason it is rarely in videogames.
I wouldn't say it caused Civ to fail.
Quoting landisaurus, reply 35... I might prefer my sorceresses not to have pants I thought the whole point was options--pants and skirts are a matter of taste and context, not internal vs. external genitals. I'd prefer my Extremely Serious Wizards not to have pants as well. Pants imply strong physicality at minimum and are pretty easily associated with aggression on account of how handy they are for cross-country hikes and ridi
How do you play in windowed mode? (It might be something to try for me as well, in addition to fiddling with the video settings.)
If you can bring the game up, go to the options and in video options uncheck fullscreen. If you can't bring the game up at all, find the prefs.ini file and edit it to specify Fullscreen=0.
Good post. I think that at the very least, building a temple of some sort should increase a town's morale and prestige.
If you zoom out, the "muttering, hammering, and horse clip-clopping" fade out, so I think you're probably right that they are based on the location. Interesting that none of the audio controls will turn it off, though.
*sniffle* I earned my first point of Karma for my building guide and 5 minutes later it went poof.
I gave you a karma point a couple of days ago and I see you as +2 now. Are you still a sad panda?
I'm not sure if this has been addressed before or not. In 0.30, the standard sovereigns have the "Basic" spell book, which include the teleport spell. That spell book doesn't seem to be available to custom sovereigns.
