I don't think you quite understand how life and death magics work: there is no "node" that you ujse. The magic auto-accumulated using some as-of-yet-unknown formula that I think is actually lumped in with the economic and city-growth systems. In short, it is actually part of the game like, say, taxes, as opposed to a part of the map or character.
Um...dude they're already in the game. The Gems on the map, yea those. I'v

My goal (and this isn’t a promise because it depends on how long it takes to do) is to make a Temple of Apshai mod (a classic RPG) using Elemental and give out to people complete with source so people could see what I did. That's Very handy to be able to do. So long as there isn't another color setting somewhere else that over-writes it then it's very useful for map customization. Why would you want to t
Only heroes or groups of heroes can enter dungeons. Heroes that improve based on what skills they use, rather than the over-used "spending your experience points" method. Death in a dungeon is permanent. Active fog of war with monsters that hunt you as you hunt them. Equipment from defeated enemies that can be used by your heroes, studied to open up new research trees, or destroyed/sold for mana or gold.
Let me br

It will probably not be possible to do from within the internal editors, but the sky's the limit when you consider altering the code.
I would say it depends.
Life and Death magic are two sides of the same coin so to speak, The Sovereign of you race is a channeler, and his nature determines the nature of the “the 5th mana” If he/she is good then it si what we would call “Life” mana, if he/she is evil that it becomes what is called “Death Mana” but is all drawn from the same source, which is easiest to just call Life. Taken straight from the "Lore" page: a series of crystals that represented the basic elements of magic: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Life. Where's the Death Magic? Every Element up there has it's opposite except Life. It needs Death Magic to equal it out. [e digicons]}:)[/e] (Can't have you "Goody Goody" Life Magic types getting the upper hand, now can we)
It's not actually an easy thing to do. The engine needs to support that number of units. They all have to be rendered. I don't know the technobabble, but no, it's a pretty difficult thing to do. Just having units that stretch across tiles would be a AI overhaul... or something.
Have you ever done any Mod work on a game like Empire Total War? I know how to hex edit the unit size in that as well in the base files. The

Here's another work up with even more Troops. I know the lines get a little uneven. I couldn't maintain perspective without putting everything on a different battle field. (which I may still do just to illustrate)
The pic you based your argument on is obsolete and does not represent the battle system they are developing.
Where did you get that information? We don't know that for sure aside from the small tidbits Frogboy mentioned. I do recall him saying somewhere to "hide" the grid in the picture. We know units will have abilities and we can use spells in battle. What we don't know is how large the unit number can be in game. The latest
I have to disagree only on it being "Moot". Now at the early design phase is the Exact time to bring it up. If we waited until later when all the coding for the battle engine was done, then it would be moot because they would be less likely to go back and change finished c

I brought this up to some extent in the past and I've revamped the idea, but, I really can't stress enough how much of an Opportunity Stardock has with this game. As Elemental is still in the design phase, I vote that you completely start over with the battle Engine. Yes, even if it takes another Six Months to get the game out. What they have now is impressive, yes, I'm not arguing that. The fact is though that the Heroes of Might and Magic system has been done to death . With El

Agreed. I'd like to see the Sovereign's heroes and children split up the cities in the fallen Sovereign's kingdom and be rebels or small kingdoms of their own without a Sovereign. That would be a lot more realistic for a war game in my view. It would also bring in a lot more strategic depth. Killing off every unit in a kingdom when the Sovereign dies just doesn't make any real sense. I can see any magical creatures a Sov has summoned dying. Anything with lots of upkeep. But the

I've seen lots of games where achievements are just replacements for depth, and are used for unlockables and some such.
I see your concerns and I agree with them too, but, I don't think Stardock's that stupid. I haven't seen a game of theirs that didn't have great depth and lore to it. Even without the lore of any given game Stardock is great about giving us features. If anything a
