Wow, all that from one little comment about bee's. :)

I think some of you are missing the point of the post a little bit. The idea's are good too, don't get me wrong, but the main theme behind this post was just to point out that even mundane things can be made fun with proper UI application. I know I give a small example of a system there but it's more of a metaphor then a actual idea for a interface. We all know that certain aspects, indeed every aspect, of a game can get boring and repetitive to some people. The main thing to take away from t

Be careful, that might sound like if those were not as important as Dragon Age. A pity that it's release doesn't share time frame with my vacations.
Huh er....uh...no, No, of course those other distractions are as important as Dragon

That is a matter of the players perspective on playing these kinds of games in the first place.
As you can see from my quote below yours I said almost the exact same thing here. As the intro screen joke implies, our goal is to make a game with the kind of solid, good fun game mechanics that used to be common a decade ago but combine it with the technology capabilities of today's hardware to create something new. Wow....two whole screen shots.....impresive collection :P
Get Dragon Age Origins in two-three weeks time. Your Rpg fix will be on for a good while. If you want a Great action game go with Red Faction Guerrilla. If you're a comic fan you can't go wrong with Batman Arkham Asylum. If you're looking for a awesome empire builder go with Galactic Civilizations 2 and it's expansions or Empire: Total War depending on if you want swords and guns or space ships and lasers. Don't forget Grand Theft Auto 4 if you want a good "sandbox" game.
Micromanagement and how to handle it is going to be a Big issue as the development of Elemental continues and I can already see debates over it are going to be heated and well balanced on both sides of the issue. The thing we have to keep in mind here is that Elemental is at it's heart a " 4X " Strategy Game. With that in mind most of those who are wanting to play a Fantasy Strategy game of this scale have certain expectations, especially where Stardock, a company known for it'
I'm playing Risen right now with a few other things. It has the Action/Rpg hybrid game play as well. It's fun but you can't turn into a dragon and fly around. You get a levitate spell that runs out way too fast. [e digicons] The game play in Divinity 2 looks a lot better. I've also read you can do fun things with magic and read peoples minds but at a rather high cost. This can open hidden quests though that you wouldn't get otherwise. As long as they don't cage off half the wor
Those are big and all, but I'm expecting bigger from what he made it sound like. Hopefully come Monday or maybe before we'll get some official answer.
I've had my eye on this game for a while now. I played through the first Divinity game and it wasn't bad. In this one they give you the ability to turn into a Dragon and fly around causing massive destruction. It's a hybrid Action/Rpg. As of now this game is only in German (which I speak loosely) but I'm waiting for the English release to pick it up. I could get the German version and add a text pack that turns all the "written" text in game to English but the spoken dialog would still be in
I'm sure there will be other ways to get the items. I was already told I'm getting the Memory Band. I guess the other item I'm getting is the Ferral Wolf Charm. Well, at least it'll net me a scantily clad witch :) Hmm, better not tell the wife I'm getting a scantily clad goth chick with the game...hehe.
In a interview I saw someone asks Frogboy(Brad) how big some of the map settings are and he said that the largest setting can be played on for a year or more on a 64 bit OS. How true is this Exactly ? Do you mean to say if I play that map every day for five to eight hours a day it will literally take me a Year of my life to conquer the whole thing? That would be incredible if it's true. How is this immense map size possible?
The last person to post wins? The last person?... Ok, then...I WIN!!! But wait,...if no one posts after me, I win, but what if no one posts for a while and I only think I won. I'm given the prize. No one posts for a week, but then someone posts and now they think they won and they want my prize...but there's only one prize....there can be only one, yes....only One. It's MINE!!!!!!! It'll drive you mad I say...Mad...MAD!!! [e digicons]o_O[/e] [e digicons]8

If you mean "Double click on the info card" then yes, I agree. Having it open the pedia every time you just click on the card though could get annoying real fast especially if you click the card to select the unit in question. I also think clicking on the card should select the unit in question as well.
Go Compendium Go! :)
Agreed. 100% Wholeheartedly Agreed. The more Micromanagement the better IMO. I'm terrified people will bitch and complain about Micro so much that we're gonna end up with a dumbed down version of Risk with Trolls and Spiders and Magic.
First, resources should not be necessary. If collecting a resource is something I must do, regardless of the situation, then it is not fun, because it is not a choice. It becomes a game of logistics, not strategy. Second, if a resource is widely available, it essentially becomes necessary, because everyone else has it. You'll be at a disadvantage if you don't use it. Thus, again, eliminating choice. While it sounds fun to h

Races....once I get those down good I can start in earnest on my Dragonlance Mod. The War of the Lance. I can't wait. Does anyone else know the Map of Krynn? I'm going to replicate it exactly. :)
I can't believe this Frog-guy thinks he can just get away with flaming the work being done on Elemental. Who the hell does he think he is, the CEO of Stardock or something? Lets Lynch him guys!!!! J/k Frogboy. If anyone doesn't know who you are by now they don't have any business being on the forums to begin with. I had a feeling it would be pushed back again honestly. Seeing as they will be allowing more people to get in on the Beta at the end of Fall I don't think we'll be g
Not that it's relevant to Elemental, but, I found Natures Ultimate Answer to Quality vs Quantity. The Asian giant hornet, Vespa Mandarinia , also known as the Japanese hornet. It only takes 30 of these wasps to kill a entire nest of 10,000 normal bees in 3 hours. So, Quality Wins :) Here's the Video: <EMBED height=344 type=application/x-shockwave-flash width=425 src=http://www.youtube.com/v/6fTrSOFyfxs&hl=en&fs=1& allowfullscree
