The same has happened to me.
RavenX
Since the 0.25 update the beta has become Very unstable. I've only managed to finish one game so far without a CTD of some kind. I can save the game, but every time I try to load I get a CTD (I think that's already known about though). Once my "Save" button even disappeared on me and I couldn't save the game at all. A restart of the game fixed that though. If it happens again I'll get a screen shot and give it it's own bug report thread. Generally though, on XP Pro 64, stability seems hosed.<
Mine still CTDs after splash screen
That happened to me as soon as I tried to launch the game after today's update. I restarted my system and the game fired up the second time with no anomolies. Have you rebooted your system since then? Just a idea.

Ding ding ding we HAVE a winner, that puts a lot of needless concern to rest.
Maybe. He didn't say For Sure they were planned. Just that he's Pretty Sure . That could be a big difference. If the CEO wants One Damage type, his word over-rides Boogies.
If you really want to have a tremendous impact on a game design and try out your ideas, start a hobby game project, it's a lot of fun, and there's tons of tools out there that make it astronomically easier than, say, 5 years ago. Any Game Developer can say " We're using Your Input to make the best game possible. Your Input counts so lets make the best game we can ". Whether or not they use our input is up to them entirely.
I agree with Myles. I like the concept of needing swords in the city where I am raising the company of swordsmen. To have swords instantly transferred across a continent, when it takes a unit months to walk that distance, really detracts from the game for me.
I agree 100%. The system doesn't make sense realistically. I also don't like being able to make units or buildings you Don't have the resources for. If you don't hav
Bad poll. Elemental should have magical damage types. It doesn't NEED them, though. It's entirely possible for the devs to make a great fantasy TBS without magical damage types. It's even possible, depending on how stressed the AI is dealing with the other combat variables, that diverse magical damage types would make the game worse. I'd like to see them added, but the way you worded your "yes" answer made me choos

A Dev responce to this would be Awesome.
This is a Very Simple Poll to show the Devs of Elemental that we NEED Magical Damage Types. Please Answer yes or no. This post is not to argue about different Types. This Post/Poll is ONLY to show that they ARE NEEDED in a game that uses magic as a main means to wage war and for combat. Direct Link to Poll: Here The results are seen after you Vote. I will post results for all to see better at a later time. The Poll ha
Excellent ideas Jedi. Most Excellent indeed.
George Carlin was the Man. I was so sad when he died. We lost one of the best comedians who ever lived that day.
I think I agree with this. If there are no damage types, then you fall back to your favorite damage spell and you don't have to learn about the different enemies you face. The learning process should last a good while to keep the game interesting. Also, damage types can provide a mechanism to punish a player for being too specialized and ignoring his options. It provides some risk to being a powerful one trick pony.
</
So Damage Types like "Ice" and "Fire" and "Electric" won't be in? Without Damage Types you won't have monsters or units that are "weak" against certain types of damage. That's pretty sad in a game that should have multiple ways to hurt your enemy in combat Imo. I really, REALLY, think you should include damage types. Not including them is the lazy way out don't you think? Especially in a game where you have a vast library of spells at your disposal that all do different
Judging by the lack of dev posts or journal entries this week I'd say they're very hard at work. I'm willing to bet that they're hard at work and determined so that we will see a patch tomorrow for sure.
I'd like to think that as well but I'm refraining from getting my hopes up too much.
So lets make some bets. Granted of course we can't gamble with physical things on the internet, but still it might be fun. So who thinks we'll be getting a new build of the Elemental Beta tomorrow? It'll be three weeks tomorrow without a new build. Just to be a nay sayer I'm gonna say "No" we won't get a new build tomorrow. Who thinks we will?
