Boogie [hopefully you will take a look at this topic again, because I have a question ]....can you tell us some secrets like....how big the tactical battle maps are? I am really worried, because the one what we can see on the one and only tact. battle screenie looks extremely small to me.
Agreed. They must be bigger then the screenshot we saw. Hopefully that was a zoomed in picture and not the whole field.

That you can. You can use a bow or crossbow to hit switches. Not sure about levers, but for the stone switches that are out of reach, yes. I haven't ran into any dialog that hasn't been spoken that I can think of. Are you playing it on PC or XBox? Which NPC's do that? I'm pretty far into the game now too, well kinda. I'm on chapter 2 or 3 gathering the crystal disks to open the big magic door. O started two games, one as a criminal working for the Don and a second one as a Mage o

I think just having units gain experience is a good thing, period. We already know the players Sovereign and Heroes gain experience in game. I'm assuming it's just logical for them to carry the same mechanic to all the "units" in the game that can fight. This would go for wandering monsters as well. If you send army after army against a Dragon that Dragon will gain experience from every army and hero he kills until someone or something finally defeats it. This would also in turn increase the
This is certainly a title I will pick up one of these days. It looks like a sand box kind of a RPG. You need to go after the story instead of the other way around? I.e. you need to find the quests on your own? Am I correct? Thanks for the review.
NP, and yes, you need to find most of the quests. There are a few that you kinda get tossed into but for the most part you have a choice in everything. Also

I like it. It kinda ties in with my idea where I state that to use more units you'll definitely need a larger battle field.

I'm betting it will be some kind of "Initiative" system. Units with a higher initiative will go first. This would mean that a few of your units would go, then maybe a few of your enemies, then a few of yours, all based on what initiative each unit has independently. That's just my educated guess though, I could be wrong.
You're right. You get different special items for the digital download.
Different as in "Only With" the digital download pre-order? When I asked Jon (the dude I know at Gamespot) he said as far as he can tell in his computer the pre-order comes with all the special items the game has. One of them is a Golem character that comes with all copies of the game but only for new purchases. If you buy Dragonage used th

I seriously can't wait for Dragonage to come out. These last couple weeks of waiting are hell...lol. At least I have my first Wedding Anniversary and Halloween to keep me preoccupied until it comes out. :) I've been playing Bioware and Black Isle games since waaaaaay back in the day. Fallout 1, Baldurs Gate, Baldurs Gate 2. Some of my favorite gaming memories of all times. The level of depth and options in those games, for the level of technology they were using, was simply astounding
Why not impulse?
Because if you Pre-Order DragonAge off Impulse you DON'T GET the same special items as if you pre-order in a store. One of the items is a Gamestop exclusive I believe.

If we do a Vote/Survey we should compile a list of the names people like the most to give a broad range of fair choices. Still, we don't even know if it's something they want to change, though Brad did make a note "name could use some work" in his other post. Give the thread a few more days to build up some suggestions/names and then go for a survey and we'll see what happens. :)

I hope they do specify between the sexes when it comes to city population. This way the Slave population can be broken down to be more efficient. Male slaves get sent straight to work/death camps or maybe conscripted right into military service. The women and children are kept as personal slaves to increase population growth....mwhahahah.

My mind is practically blazing with ideas for terrain types. I can't wait to get started building. I'm hoping a lot of what I have in mind will become "cannon" once you get around to the evaluation process once people start submitting their own things. Will the evaluation of user submitted work start during beta as well when that system is being tested or will that actually wait for launch? Either way Excellent post, Brad. This makes me very happy.
