Wait, are you saying that you got paid $1,000,000 to write something in 12 hours? Unless you specialize in a highly unusual field I doubt it.

I've heard the same thing about Bioware/EA, but nothing really verified. I know one of the gentlemen from Reclaim Your Game got himself banned from all EA forums but not the games I think. Yea, I'm a bit skeptical. Banning someone from the forums is one thing.
Of course I understand the concept of net neutrality. The reason I used a quote was for responding to that specific statement. Do you understand the concept of quoting? edit: should have added that when people talk canadian caps, that is what they are thinking about, the bandwidth cap. thus the confusion.
Nope, not sure what this "quoting" thing is that you're speaking of. If someone or me, post something what they dont like, or point out some problems, it does not mean, that the game is bad or that they attack you. If you do not want to admit, that they are things which you could or can do better, then it is shame on you. Because, there is always room for improvem
that actually would be extremely easy to implement I would imagine.

I hope this is not the final version... Looks almost identical to beta 4.
A very minor issue, but when an image is added to a post (and reduced so it fits within the forums) the reduction % is incorrect. Right now it says "Reduced X%" which isn't true since the images are actually being reduced 100 - X % (ie: if it says an image has been reduced 89%, it's actually been reduced by only 11%).
A sort of "king of the hill" feeling would be great for shards.
@Frogboy any word on performance improvements? I posted about beta 4 only using 1 core of my CPU as well as the fact that I get only approx 15 fps: https://forums.elementalgame.com/389737
Kind of odd to say, but I'm almost more excited to see the difference between the 0-day-release (including the stuff held back to the internal beta) and beta 4 than actually playing the game.
So what I’m saying is that Elemental 1.0 on August 24th is going to be a first person shooter. Enjoy.
I Lol'ed. I too miss the fat manuals that used to come with games (and I'm not even old!) - it almost makes me wish that I had waited to get the game in a physical copy.
I agree that the AI still needs lots of work (both for tactical battles, strategy and diplomacy) but the main issue I'm seeing right now is the ridiculous cheating that the AI is doing when set to harder levels. Giving every AI controlled city an instant +100 to gold income / prestige / etc just makes the game more tedious than fun.
Extremely simply method of regulating the number of enchantments / summons a sovereign has: based upon the potency of the spell in question, require it to temporarily reserve X amount of the sovereign's essence.

@ Scooter 100 spells would not make the game a mess. Having at most 60 spells in the game would limit each "core" (fire, water, air, earth) books to 15 spells a piece resulting in an extremely shallow selection of spells.
@ Frogboy: Spellbook UI: I agree that selecting a spell to be cast during combat could get a bit tedious. It would be roughly just as efficient as HoMM however: open book -> select desired category -> select spell. I can't speak for everyone, but I prefer having information organized by category rather than having to flip through page upon page to find something. You could use a radial men
Frogboy was asking for some specific suggestions regarding the magic system in another thread, so here goes. There is no information on their purpose, or how significant / insignificant it is to choose a spell book. Spell books should probably be given their own separate page on the sovereign c
Familiars cannot damage enemies. I've attacked multiple times but no damage is ever dealt. I don't ever see a "miss" message either. Not only that but my familiar isn't getting stronger (which the spell description says should happen). I reported a bug from the last version where summoned units couldn't actually damage enemies, I guess it is still in?
