Are we not getting any more AI improvements with our beta patches?
Have there been AI fixes / improvements since 0.8 that are not being listed? Because investing time into the game only to have the AI send lone heroes against my cities is less than appealing.
I realize the update is unreleased, but please give the AI some more love before releasing if possible. Specifically, prevent the AI from declaring wars it's unable to fight - or make sure that when the AI does declare war, that it sends more than individual heroes against enemy cities to get slaughtered.

How the hell does the AI (challenging) already have 3 heroes and a trained archer unit by the 10th turn? I thought the AI didn't receive bonuses until later difficulty levels.

I had the same thing happen to me. Everyone was happy with me then all of a sudden three nations all declared war on me all in the same turn (both Kingdom and Empire nations).
An AI nation moved an army to the point where 4 tiles met so that it was (at least graphically) partially within all 4 tiles.
Textures are flickering around their borders in the research window when playing the game at 2560 * 1440.
Two opposing armies moved to the same tile at the same time without any battle. An AI nation and some water shrills.

Improving the tactical AI so that it recognizes kiting (or specifically, the dangers of it) would go a long way to improving tactical combat without limiting the player to prevent kiting in the first place.
Oh, and the gambling assassin ability plays the incorrect animation.
