Will it be a Beta Thursday?

All the talk from the techs, seemed to indecate that there would be a new Beta today (27/9/2012). But no sign of it yet. Will it be a Beta Thursday?

You have 27 months in a year???

;P

I think only one country in the world uses the date format that Gammit10 uses. Way to go calling this guy out for using the real date instead of the one you use Gammit10.

Logical way to do dates: day month year

The question I always ask my European friends is, "how do you feel about sorting?"  with the day in front, it makes sorting kind of difficult doesn't it?

It's easy.  You can always tell a DD/MM/YYYY date from a MM/DD/YYYY one if the first number is greater than 12.  We have have many groups in our community, so sometimes silence AND understanding ARE golden.

I didn't want to point that out... best logic would be year / month / day... but I didn't say anything about this.

We mark the field/row as date and use something called computers to show us the information in the order we want.

All 3 main types are used in Canada – in French and in English.[30][31] Social Insurance applications for Canada use DMY format.[32] Passport applications[33] and tax returns[34] use YYYY MM DD. Nearly all newspapers use MDY (MMM[M] D, YYYY).[35] The default date format used by Microsoft Windows for English Canada for all-numeric dates (short-dates) is DD/MM/YYYY, and for long dates is MMMM D, YYYY in Windows XP and MMMM-DD-YY in later versions; for French Canada it is YYYY-MM-DD for short-dates and D MMMM YYYY for long-dates.
End of quote

Damn, no wonder I could never get this right.

Not really. If you're a programmer you don't store dates in strings, and if you're using a program like excel they all support sorting dates with our method. Or what situation are you trying to sort them in?

And since we are discussing it, when are we going to switch to the galactic year? Having time be based on our planet's rotation is so archaic.

By what standard? The US is on the verge of going broke it seems to me? Only surviving by the fact that dollar is still standard for payment of oil and other important trade products. But we are nagging eachother CAUSE WE HAVE NO PATCH....
