I think Run speed and Attack speed (stats only affecting tactical battles) should be flat out separate. So, even if we still have only 1 pool of action points, Run speed makes travelling cost less AP, and attack speed makes attacking/ countering cost less AP.
We've been saying that since this system was announced a year ago (back in like beta 1). That's just not the direction they want to go.

I've finally gotten to a point where I've at least gotten a decent game going, but there are still times when my entire force gets obliterated in a single battle. Crazy stuff. I don't know how it's so easy for you. What settings are you using (I mean, what "race", attributes, etc.)?
Go down the warfare tree until you get squads and the big maces (the ones over 20 attack)

Right now I don't think constitution does enough to be worth buying. It only adds a couple HP, with no particular scaling. Considering what the other stats do and how hard units hit later in the game, it's pretty insignificant. This also contributes to the problem of champions being fragile in late game, because even if you dump five levels of points into Constitution, you're still not clear of being one shotted by a squad with maces. So, a couple of suggestions: 1. Change the

If it attacked *you* and you got penalized for that, it sounds like a bug of some kind. Attacking the wandering people is one thing, but being punished for something out of your control (like a mob attacking you) is pretty silly.

it's a problem with the damage system and champion HP, not spells. I mean I had a unit last night with 13 attack and 17 defense (and 9HP because I recruited him), get killed in one hit by a unit with 9 attack. He didn't even get to counterattack. Damage scales up way too high relative to HP, and defense is unreliable. Fix those problems, and the spells scaling won't be as big a deal.
I hate when the AI makes a stupid choice, and gets their sovereign killed early, thus eliminating the faction. This is too early in the game to really have successors too. In AOW, sadly, the 'leaders' never really moved off their capital city. In MOM there was no physical manifestation of the wizard, just a 'capital city'. However, If in the mid to late game and I am out to conquer a kingdom, I have usually prepared with a big enough army/

I just always hated it in any game (AOW, MOM, ) that when you killed the enemy leader a whole enemy empire suddenly vanishes! Some sort of successor or heir takeover would be great!!! This would be a balance to using, risking, and losing a powerful leader is that the successor or heir wo
dragoaskani seems to think that gaming "journalists" from big sites have some special skills that make their reviews more relevant than anyone else's. Gimme a break. It's probably the opposite since the publisher ad revenue they generate makes their credibility suspect compared to a 100% independent reviewer. IGN is a major gaming review site so their reviews are automatically more credible, right? Redu

Adventure techs can let you find more gold mines. Civilization techs include things like the bazaar and the mint, which dramatically boost gildar income in towns that have mines. Making your town bigger and choosing the gildar bonus also increases it. IIRC Caravans (a first diplomatic tech) increase income. Killing monsters also yields gildar. Your best bet is to try to find a spot with some mines, plop a town there, build every gildar improvemen

I saw popups in 1.06 saying "new monsters are in the world, be careful" both when I researched it and when I didn't. That might mean someone else researched it, I'm not sure. The new resources and quest locations are only visible if you have the tech yourself though.

If you want really good performance right now, enable the option for Cloth Map Only. It runs a LOT better on the cloth map. Granted there's no eye candy, but it's fully playable that way until they get performance improved.
Well, maybe DLC is a more marketable way of doing what I was saying, and makes more sense. I understand that people's reaction at first is "What? They want me to pay again for the game?" Of course not! Is not done in that way. If a company charges you a lot of money for unpolished games, or dor DLC packs with absolutely no content, people will stop buying sooner than later. DLC is just a way to continue improving a game with new contents as
