The installer isn't installing some required libraries, clearly. Where did you buy it? You should contact the digital store and tell them that they need to include the libraries.

Because having every game try to look ultra realistic with 160 shades of brown isn't as great as its cracked up to be. :P
Oh it's 12? Okay cool. :)
The only problem I see with Janusk in MP is that he allows a female sovereign to get married immediately and get a head start on kids. But that could be fixed.
Quoting Nick-Danger, reply 8I've found the stack limit is 12 units (each unit can contain up to 12 individuals). I assume you can you bring multiple stacks of 12 to a battle then? So, in theory, the wallpaper/screenshot battle could happen.
Yes, but to keep the terminology consistent we're using "unit" as a single entity. A squad is a unit that consists of more then one person (like a squad of peasants is say 8
I've found the stack limit is 12 units (each unit can contain up to 12 individuals).
By stack limit, I mean the number of units that can sit in the same tile and move/fight together. :) IIRC it's 10 units. The current squad size limit is 12, but you could mod that higher pretty easily.
That was the original plan, it was changed because they didn't find it worked very well internally (and because people looking for a game in the genre expect turn based combat). Combat right now is limited to 10ish units per side, but a squad has more then one guy and still counts as a unit. (The exact stack limit was 10 in beta, I dunno if they changed it.)
Arena page is looking cool. Is it going to track coop games as well as competitive ones? Also, is the player location based on their profile, or by IP geolocation?
As to the question about DL content, it was stated earlier that all DL content will be released to EVERYONE 90 days after it is released to those that bought "x". So, whatever I get for buying from BestBuy others will have 90 days later. Stardock apparently gave up some pretty good coin for that to happen. Well, Brad posted before I did and in fact I'm dead wrong it seems.

I have offered ideas and critiques on different functions.
I might suggest that both Stardock and their customer base has grown to where a Community Manager might be necessary to filter interactions with customers. Not as forum moderators, but more to properly identify who your customer base is and identify their wants. I repeatedly saw Stardock people claiming baffling things like the customer base wanted simpler or faster (shorter) gameplay when it was difficult to find any mention of it in
One of the issues with making it less random is that research in one area seems to increase the odds of finding things in another. Like if I have a red Civics tech on the list and go to research five Warfare things, by time I come back it's turned yellow. The end result is making it pretty easy to go through seeing nothing but green techs the entire way, which largely defeats the point.
Back in beta the number of slots was your essence. But IIRC this is going to go away in the future in the favor of more traditional mana upkeep costs.
Quoting Zero_the_Hero, reply 275 In this forum, you either kiss stardock's ass or you are told to "shut up and go away" by half dozens of truculent thread-guard fan boys. If you read some random posts about the game, you will be capable to name each one of them. Nonsense. There is a HUGE difference between posting your opinion in a civilized way/giving constructive feedback
I ignore unreasonable definitions of 'finished' -- they're not worth considering. Am I living in a different world, one where many games are released in what can reasonably described as 'unfinished with the intent to fix later', and the rest of you are living in a world where this doesn't happen? If so, how do I join you? My point is predicated upon a reasonable definition of 'finished'. Isn't that how
Just to be clear, tactical battles *are* coming to MP. That won't be immediate with 1.08, but it's not a "maybe." Brad's said straight up they're going to get that back in after the necessary QA work is done (it needs to be tested and an option hooked up, and I think we can all agree at this point that testing stuff is good). In terms of other work, well MP gets the benefit of everything done to improve the SP game. Extra stuff for MP depends on demand... which makes sense, doesn't it
I'd like to know about the OP question too. Been in two provinces now and I can't find a retail copy in either of them. If Stardock was supposed to have retail distribution in Canada they need to talk to their partners about it because it doesn't seem to have actually made it here.
And since all people are asking for is the SP game only with more human players, there's no problem. :P Any improvements made to SP carry over to MP anyway.
So uhh... what's actually being sacrificed? Did I miss the memo where quests are being turned off in SP once the MP servers are turned on?

Considering how hypersensible to the extreme some people are, that they get aknowledged and/or answered is a different thing. And at least we keep getting Dev Journals, or should we demand Stardock to stop them because we cannot post in them to "provide feedback or a
Tactical battles were removed from MP originally, but they're supposed to come back. I dunno how it's implemented in Elemental, but in other games like AoW:SM you'd stop and watch the other people when they go into tactical combat. It's not as annoying as it sounds if you're playing with friends, and the alternative is using auto-resolve for everything which is even worse.
We'll have to agree to disagree, because when you say "...Whatever unfinished really means for games...", the developer has an idea of what's acceptably 'finished' to them, and in my example they're releasing before that's met, with the intent to achieve that at some later date. I'd be pretty surprised if you released your product before it achieved your concept of 'finished', with the intent of finishing it later.
